I haven't been blogging regularly lately and I really miss it! I just always find something I need to do and never get around to blogging. The past three months I haven't been working at the insurance office. I stopped in October and started doing photos full time, which was great until this ugly cold weather hit. I haven't had many shoots this past month of January so I applied for a photography job with a company that does preschool shoots and I got it! I'm really excited, it's just a part time job which won't pay much but at least I'll be doing something I love! Playing with cameras and babies!
I have tons of photo sessions booked for March and April and hope to book much more as spring rolls around. I've decided to do another Easter shoot this year and have already booked two days solid with about 13 people a day! I'm going to do a mini 30 minute shoot with chickens again.
You may remember last year my Chicken experience... My last Chicken Disappeared last week during one of the snow falls. I keep thinking she'll turn back up but I think something ate her for Lunch, which is ironic because that's what we called her :) I will miss her eggs.. And I'm kind of embarrassed that I couldn't keep six chickens alive for a year... Oh well it's not like they are lovable..
Last month I went on etsy to buy some cute hat props for photos and just couldn't bring myself to pay 40 bucks for a crocheted hat. So i decided to learn how to crochet and make them myself. Yeah I know...hard way to save 40 bucks.. But I did it and here are some of my creations..
I'm slowly getting better, I've also made a sling for babies and a Little Pea Pod for babies that's really cute! Mom keeps calling me Grandma Jenna...She will not get a knitted hat this winter.
Oh yeah and I'm super super excited because in a week I will be Here...
That's Beaver Creek Ski Resort!! I can't decide if I'm more excited about a long needed vacation with the family, Going skiing, or Getting to take beautiful Photos!!!Have a great week!

WOW! That is awesome! Have fun on your vacation!!!
YAY for quitting a boring job to do what you love! (I'm assuming it was boring... i mean, insurance/photography, hmmm?) :)
I was going to say to buy from Laura (Life Happens) b/c she is selling now & she does an awesome job! And she doesn't charge so much! But looks like you have learned quite well! LOVE your creations! :)
HUGS!
Those hats are TOO cute! You should start an Etsy store and sell them!

So proud of you for following your dream, Jenna. You'll never know if you don't try. I believe in you 100%!
Have fun taking pics of babies and enjoy your vacation.

P.S. - Is it the winter months that make people want to crochet? My wife started crocheting too!
Love the hats. You did a great job. How long did it take you to learn? I really want too :)
Congrats on the picture job and your business going so well :)
The hats looks great!
It is freezing in Topeka, I went to the store and it was three degrees. Brrr!
Where is your hubby working? Yous should have come with him you could of stayed here :)
Cute hats!!
Have fun on your trip. It looks so peaceful and relaxing.
It's definitely better to make your own hats! It's ridiculous what people will charge. I've been crocheting a lot lately simply because I like to... and then I've been selling some of the stuff which makes it even more fun. :)
Did you find patterns for your hats somewhere? I've been on ravelry.com. There is lots of fun things on that site.
Congrats on the new job, and on taking the plunge and quitting insurance! And that's great that you picked up on making that stuff so fast...I've tried it a couple times and got bored when I didn't get the hang of it right away! Sounds like lots of exciting things are in store for you! ;-)
