American Idol Sucks

This morning I would like to gripe about American Idol. First of all I believe that Paula subscribes to a daily vocabulary word e-mail and then tries to use all weeks worth in one AI show.

Paula,

No one knows what your saying. All you do is comment on what they are wearing and how much you love them. You are irrelevant. Kara has replaced you...And did I hear Ryan say you were going to be on stage tonight...did he mean sing? I hope not.. Sincerely, Jenna

Second of all I believe that the judges have their minds made up of who they want to win, and they are really killing AI because it's persuading America's vote. Personally, I believe that the vocals last night, from all contestants were way under par. Danny's scream? I think he was really scared that he was going to mess up the high notes at the end of the song, so scared that he just screamed. Slash and Ryan really set him to fail though. They built up the scream at the end of the song so much I couldn't enjoy the rest of the song because I was waiting for the scream at the end, which was horrible by the way.

Alison actually looked fabulous last night, (first performance only) I'm glad she went to see Adam's hair dresser, which makes me surprised that Adam has a hair dresser, I just thought he cut his hair by himself..in his sleep. By the way, I know Adam can sing and all, but like the judges said last night, he would be perfect for 70's rock singer. (which were all pretty animated and loved makeup just as much as he does) Well this isn't a 70's rock competition, he's not normal enough to be an American "Idol." He needs to go on Broadway..and stay there. Alison actually sounded OK last night but as far as playing Janis Joplin in a movie.. yeah that wouldn't work. Kelly Clarkson, Maybe...

I'm a huge Kris fan being from Arkansas and all, but he didn't do to hot vocally last night. I'm really glad that Randy noticed his awesome guitar playing. He did amazing. I just wish he would've gotten into the song a little more, I think that would've made it less boring. But over all he actually rocked it last night more than anyone because he actually ROCKED IT, with a MUSICAL INSTRUMENT, which is pretty much all rock is about right..the MUSIC?! I voted for Kris probably 50 times. He's the most artistically able person up there. I think he deserves top three over Alison and Adam. Actually he and Danny are probably the two that should be in the finals, but after last night the judges pretty much set Alison and Adam up for the finals with that whole worship service at the end of their solo... gah I'm fired up now. If Kris goes home tonight I quit AI. I'll start watching Dancing with the stars or something...

blah blah

Saturday I woke up and decided to take Banjo and Birdie to my uncle, a vet, in my hometown. Banjo had two spots on his head that I was afraid was either mange or ringworm, thank goodness it just turned out to be hot spots from him staying wet constantly. *you can see one in the picture..ew. If he's not wet because it's raining, he's wet because he's swimming. The dog likes the water! So now it's two pills, twice a day, for the next few weeks. Birdie gained three whole pounds since her last check up two weeks ago. She's a growing girl. Banjo weight a whopping 80 pounds and Jenna weighed the same she did last time! (yes I did get on the dog scales and weigh myself) WooHoo no weight gain! --Boo! no weight loss! This is how they slept in the back seat on the way home. I'm glad they love each other.
After getting our shots and meds we went to the house to watch my uncle give one of Dad's mares an ultra sound. It was pretty interesting. I'm not even going to tell you how they get the ultrasound, lets just say it looks painful. While the mare was getting her ultrasound, I got to hold her month old colt. She was a cutie. She was scared to death though, I had to rub her down to calm her down. On the way home Birdie and Banjo slept. It rained from the time I left Mom and Dads until the time I got home. I opted not to participate in the rodeo Saturday night. Standing in the mud under an umbrella in 50 degree weather all night just didn't sound appealing to me. Thank goodness I didn't go either because they drove three hours to the rodeo just to find that it was cancelled and had to drive three hours back. So no money won this weekend...

My friend Shannon came over and we watched movies and played with her camera all night. We watched Bride Wars which was pretty cute. I give it 3 1/2 out of 5 stars. It was a chick flick so I'm deducting one star for the guys and it was kind of cheezy so I deducted another 1/2 star. But if you're looking for a feel good movie that's kind of funny, watch it.

Yesterday we had a work picnic at my in laws house. About 40 people were there. It ended up being a garage picnic because it rained all day. It was still a lot of fun. Birdie and I went to the creek, which was up about 2 feet, so she could swim. She had a great time. Around 5 Sean left for Baton Rouge for the week, (which means "red stick" in French apparently.) Shannon said she was going to come stay with me a couple nights because her husband is out of town too. So for all you rapists and killers out there I WILL NOT BE ALONE. (that is for my mom's peace of mind)

It's the steers in the mud...

This is one of those Mondays. You know, the kind where you wake up and just want to roll over and go back to sleep all day. I wish the sun would shine a little bit. It's rained nonstop all weekend. It rained so much that the river came out of the banks and flooded about 50 yards into the pasture. They had to move the cows early in the morning so they wouldn't get washed away.
Friday night I went with Sean and two other steer wrestlers to the Rodeo in Forrest City. The steers were horrible and Sean never even got a chance to get off his steer. The arena was very small but lots of people were there. Again, I wish I had a camera to take better quality pictures. We were in the middle of some crop field right next to the State prison. I could just imagine a prison break happening in the middle of the rodeo and the escaped prisoners coming to the rodeo to mug someone, take their clothes, and blend into the crowd and kill me. My imagine runs wild sometimes... Anyway, I've decided to make a picture montage of all the places I go with Sean this year. That way I remember everything and I don't get so bored sitting in the stands by myself. There are so many things interesting to see at these rodeos. Most of them are put on by smaller towns and a lot of them are either part of a fair or some sort of festival. It's always fun to see the different types of folks that show up and see all the kids excited about the events. I guess I've been going to so many so long, it's lost all of the excitement for me, now it's just boring and I can't wait for it to be over. The atmosphere at most of these rodeo's are so laid back and so slow. It seems that everyone forgets the hustle and bustle of daily life and just lets time go in slow motion, I like that feeling. It seems weird I think of the rodeo as slow and laid back because all the events are timed and everyone is in a hurry to get their steer thrown, or calf roped, but it's just the whole small town "old west" atmosphere that seems slow; the southern drawls, the lemonade and iced tea, the kids running wild, warm sticky weather, the lazy mosquitoes, and the smell of leather. Don't tell Sean but I kind of like this lifestyle.

Afternoon Suprise

Oh I'm so excited! I went for a walk with the Chocolate Children yesterday and we went down by the pond. It's really wet down there so it's more like a swamp than a pond. Banjo and I were just down there a few weeks ago but yesterday we found that these beautiful wild Irises had bloomed. They were everywhere and so beautiful! I had no idea they were there (and neither did Sean because he told me if he'd have known he would've scored some major free brownie points for giving me flowers). I'm going to keep a fresh bouquet on my counter until they quit blooming. Then I'm going to get their bulbs and put them in my front yard, which is more like a front swamp also! This was a nice surprise on such a beautiful afternoon. Please excuse my blurry photos. If I don't use my flash on my camera I have to be extra still or it will be blurry, obviously I couldn't stay still...which proves even more my need for a new camera. Mom informed me today that her lenses to her high power film camera, which is a Canon, will fit any Canon camera and she has like 4 different lenses, so I think I will be researching a Canon to buy instead of a Nikon!! Yay less money to spend for me! Have a great weekend! I'm off to the Rodeo.
