The Great Fire of 2010

Tomorrow is my Birthday.  Except I've decided that I will not get any older than I am right now because 25 just screams "adult"  so tomorrow I will be 24 again.  Thanks.

We are having a crawfish boil in honor of the day of my birth.  And what better way to do that than to eat small crustaceans  that are so hot your mouth is numb by the end of the evening.  My friend Shannon shares the same birthday as me and my BFF from back home, Laci's birthday is today so we are all three celebrating Saturday!

Anyway since we're having a few people over on Saturday, Sean decided he needed to clean up the outside of our house a little, starting with the leaves in the yard.  Our front yard has 9 oak trees in it give or take. We have a yard full of leaves that are waist deep..almost.  Yesterday after my lunch break I was leaving and Sean was in the front yard raking the leaves in to small piles.  When I returned home at 5, Our yard was a smoldering black sea of burnt ashes, plus one tree on fire.  I was very alarmed.  Was Sean alive??   I walked in the back door and Sean's white tennis shoes were on the back porch, they are no longer white, but BLACK.  Apparently when you stamp out a out of control yard fire your shoes get burned..He was unharmed though..by the fire anyways, unharmed by me is a different story.

APPARENTLY, he got tired of raking and decided he would burn the leaves instead and the fire got way out of control.  The small tree on fire was one near the fence line close to the highway.  Our fence line is lined with bushes and trees, it keeps our house a little private from all the passers-by.  So the tree was already dead and was just a 5 foot tall stump. But buddy that thing burned and burned.  When it got dark it was more noticeable and apparently it was more alarming to the people driving by and I had three people stop, pull in my drive way, knock on my door, and ask if I knew we had a tree on fire.

Ok, now I'm really thankful that there are still people in this world that are good. I'm very thankful that they stopped to warn me, just in case I didn't know.  But Come On People it's dead center in front of my front door, which has a glass door that was wide open.   Thetree is 75 feet from my house and FLAMING.. oh and no chance it's going to fall on the house because it's a 5 foot tall stump... I'm not retarted, I can see the flaming tree.   I don't know, maybe they thought someone was burning a cross in my yard as a warning or something...I'm just glad noone called the fire department but it wouldn't have surprised me to see fire  trucks speeding into my driveway.

So now we will be eating crawfish over a lawn of burnt ashes instead of leaves...not quite so sure it was a good trade off but at least Sean tried...

My Bad

Every night before bed I take a relaxing hot bath.  It helps me wind down and forget the stress of my day and puts me in sleep mode.

Sometimes I read in my bath, Sometimes I just lay there and relax, and sometimes I actually fall asleep!  Sometimes I add bathsalts and sometimes I add bubbles.

Sometimes Birdie and Banjo will come lay next to the bathtub with me and nap and once Birdie tried to take a drink of the bathwater.  I had to get on to her so she doesn't do that anymore.

Since I've been so busy lately I've started taking my laptop in with me and getting some work done.  It's a really small notebook Mac computer so it's light.  My bathtub is a huge garden tub so I have plenty of room in there.  I'm always careful not to get my Mac wet.

Until Wednesday Night.

I've been pretending the past two days like this accident didn't happen.  Like everything is fine and that I'm not stupid but I think last night it finally hit me that I actually did drop my laptop into the tub.  I actually did ruin my laptop.  My lap top with all my photos on it, with all my editing software, all my music, all my wedding photos...MY WHOLE LIFE is in that stupid lap top..

...Oh but you backed it up right Jenna?  You saved everything on a backup drive so you don't have any problems right?

Wrong...

So I've had it open and upside down for the past two days letting it air out, hoping and praying it will work.  I turned it on last night and it worked!

Kind of

The screen is no longer colorful.  It's very faded and water blotches are everywhere.

The shift key is evidently stuck along with the caps lock key because every time I tried to type I just kept getting this:  !@#$%^  AND THIS

I'm typing from my work computer, which will have to be my sole computer until I can get mine fixed but I'm screwed on the weekends.

Do you have any suggestions for me?  Can this be fixed or will I have to buy another computer?  Can apple fix this or the Geek squad?    Has anyone else been this stupid and taken their computer into the bathtub with them then watched in slow motion as it dropped into the water while you desperately tried to stop it but you just couldn't do anything but stare at it open mouthed and dumbfounded?

What does a person do without a computer?!  Without the internet!?  I'm scared...help me.

Where's Sean

One of my many great Christmas Presents from my Mom was Photoshop Elements 8. I Love having it because I can do so much more with my photos!! Like my banner for instance...Photoshop. Now that my hubby is on the Rodeo trail I have much more free time to photoshop weird things like my head on supermodels bodies and stuff like that. One thing I'm going to add to my blog that I have photoshopped is  "Where's Sean" and with this little gadget I will let you know where Sean's rodeoing at, which I know is something you are all just going crazy wanting to know.

Meet our Sean for this little game

 Hi Sean!

So anyway if you're still reading this and don't think I'm out of my mind.. this is kind of like Where's Waldo...  And were is Sean right now you ask??

Stephenville TX!   And were will Sean be tomorrow??  WITH ME!! I'm so excited, he's decided to come home this week instead of waiting until the week after next, to spend a little time with me.   I think he misses me but don't tell him I told you that.  Then It's back to Texas, then on to Mississippi, Back to Texas, and then New Mexico.

Today he was in Odessa, we had no luck at Odessa, a broken barrier cost us a few thou but I'm going to stay positive and keep on praying that God's will is to let Sean be a Professional Rodeo Cowboy!

I know you're always dying to know where my husband is so now you can keep up with where Sean is on my sidebar to your Right.  I'll be updating it with where Sean is in the US because I have no life and I like to play with Photoshop.

Sean is going to be so embarrassed when he sees this...he thinks I'm blog crazy.

Maybe I am.

I Promise never to Go Again!

So if you read my last post you know that I went duck hunting with Sean Yesterday.  Kelsey commented on how hard core I was because of how cold it was yesterday morning but after she reads this post she might just want to retract that statement.

Get ready...this is a long one..

Sean and I traveled three hours north to my Mother's Family's Christmas dinner on Saturday night and we had a wonderful time!  I finally finished the WWII scrapbook for my Grandfather and he was just in awe of it and it made me so happy that he loved it!!  I guess I was in such a good mood on the drive home that I agreed to go Hunting with Sean so I could take some photos of them hunting.  Now last time I went Duck Hunting I was horribly cold the entire time and swore I'd never go again.  Sean assured me it wouldn't be so cold this time and that they would actually see some ducks as opposed to last time when we saw like two.

Sean was very wrong my friends.  Very wrong.

See we left North Arkansas at 8 pm and got back home at 11pm.  We gathered our clothes and drove another hour and a half to duck camp.. making our arrival time around 1:30 am.  The alarm jerked me awake at 4:30 am and I wanted to shoot it, except that no shot gun was in reaching distance.  So going on three restless hours of sleep...oh and I had to crawl in bed with Sean's brother because all the other beds were taken...at least I didn't have to sleep on the floor like Sean did.  So anyway going on three restless hours of sleep and zero food and drink, we loaded up and got on all the many layers of clothes and waders and drove out to a duck hole on the Bayou Meto in Stuttgart, Duck capitol of the US.

Let me just insert here that I'm a little bit moody when I only get three hours of sleep and have no food or drink...and there's a good reason for the no food or drink rule.  Last time I went I had to pee so bad that I almost fainted and Had to hold it for FOUR hours.  It's not possible to pee when you're in the woods in waist deep water in waders...not possible.  But even though I was moody, hungry, and thirsty, I was optimistic about this hunt!  I just knew I would fall in love with hunting as Sean has and we could go hunting as a couple next duck season and hold hands as we shoot ducks out of the sky.... I was very very wrong.

Within 20 minutes My toes went numb and I couldn't feel my face.  Sean told me to move around a bit so I walked in circles which wasn't easy in waste deep water and heavy waders on.  Finally the sun rose and we could hear other hunters shooting away, it sounded like bombs exploding all around us.  But um...why were we not seeing any ducks to shoot?

After the sun rose high enough for me to get good pictures I started taking photos which ended my boredom and got my mind off my cold feet until I took so many pictures it got boring again and we still weren't seeing any ducks.  I was so cold by this point that I thought my feet were going to fall off and I started praying that this miserable cold would disappear.

Sleepiness started to creep in at this point also, so I walked a good 200 yards to the boat, flung myself over the side and layed down for a good hour nap.  When I awoke, I could no longer feel my legs, my hands, or my face.  That's when the whining set in.  I wanted to cry.  I was hungry, sleepy, bored, and the coldest I'd ever been in my life.  My feet were burning they were so cold and I'm pretty sure that there was zero blood flow to them at this point.  I told Sean that if he took me back to the truck now I promise that I will never come again, that I had hypothermia and I am about to cry.  I'm sure his Dad and brother were annoyed but honestly I was so miserable I didn't care at this point.

Thankfully the hunt was dying down and an Hour later I was in the warmth of a heater and I still today cannot feel my toes.  I think I might have frost bite, which I delirously called freezer burn as we were leaving the bayou.  I also feel as if I'd been hit by a truck because in an effort to stay warm I did lunges, squats, ran in circles, toe rises, leg lifts, and any other excersize I could think of to stay warm.  It did not help me stay warm but it did help tone my muscles, which will be the only exercise I will do for the rest of this month because of how sore I am today.

After leaving the Mouse House we went to Mack's Prarie Wings, which is much like a bass pro shop except geared more towards water fowl hunting.  It was fun and we stayed there and looked around for awhile and spent too much money.

I got a few good photos, I'll be showing throughout the week. Here are my favorites of me, sean, and Banjo.

I don't know why but I really like this picture of Sean,  he looks so cute!!  I like Men in Camo!

Notice Sean's face paint, that is so when you look up at the ducks they won't see your shining white face.  He put some on me too but because I was so cold and had a face warmer over my entire face all day, it rubbed off a little.  This photo below is probably my favorite of me.  Sean took it on the boat ride out of there.  I was delirious, miserable, cold, half covered in face paint, and happy to know that a heater was just minutes away.

I love this photo of Banjo looking to the sky for ducks.  He looks so innocent and sweet, which he is!

So Totally needless to say the duck hunt was horrible.  We left the hole with two ducks and a promise that I would NEVER go hunting again, NEVER...unless it was hot outside, which is like saying when Hell freezes over.

Hope you enjoyed my extra long post about me being a whiny baby.  And for the record my toes are still tingling and very much in pain from freezer burn.

Never Duck Hunting Again,

This Post Contains a Warning!

Ok It's Wednesday..and I'm very Wordy today.  Head over to Seven CLown Circus for more wordy Wednesday Posts!

Last night after our Last Co-Ed softball game of the Season, Sean and I got pulled over. I have a head light out. I've known about it for a few days but just haven't gotten around to fixing it. The officer pulled me over for having a broken headlight then asked me if I'd been drinking. At 10:00 pm on a Tuesday night?? Yes I'm sloshed officer. Um..am I that bad of a driver that he thought I was drunk??

What added to the pain is when I told him we had just left a co-ed softball game and he asked if we'd won.  When I told him we got beat both games he laughed and said "Oh well then, I won't make your night any worse I'll just write you a warning"...Uh Thanks man...you could've left the laugh out.
Oh well, he was really really nice and wrote me a warning for my headlight being out, since I wasn't drinking and driving. After telling the officer I knew the headlight was out and just hadn't fixed it yet, Sean got onto me. He said to always pretend you didn't know, play stupid with cops. He has much experience on getting tickets...

Which brings me to the time I had a tail light out that had been out for months. When I got pulled over I lied and thanked the officer so much for letting me know because I had no idea. About two weeks later I got pulled over by THE SAME OFFICER and I couldn't act like I didn't know but clever me acted shocked and exclaimed There must be a short in it! Ironically there was and I had to buy a whole new tail light, not just a bulb. Guess that's what I get for lying:)

Sean's Blog Debut

Since I blog all the time and Sean just discovered a few weeks ago that I even had a blog, I thought I'd introduce you to him. Sean's quiet unless he knows you and then he annoys you because he talks to much. He loves to joke around and he is hardly ever serious. He doesn't dwell on anything for very long and he is a very straight forward kind of guy. He's also very loving and what you see is what you get with Sean. He's a country boy through and through, loves to hunt anything that moves, loves to steer wrestle, plays the guitar, and works on the farm but not by choice. He's a jack of all trades and there isn't hardly anything he can't do, the hard part is getting him to do it!!

I'd like to take this time to Brag on my husband and his accomplishments in the Rodeo this year. Since the Sean started in May he's won about $7,000 dollars. After you take out fees and gas that number is probably closer to $5,000 profit but I think that's pretty good for amateur rodeos. His biggest check has been $900. Most of them average out to be about 300 a rodeo. He really wants to start the pro-rodeo tour next year.

Josh told me It would be interesting to get Sean's point of view on the rodeos he goes to and I thought It would be cool to do that also. Sean thought otherwise. He's very shy and he's not a man of many words so I had to pry this information out of him. Hopefully he'll warm up to it because I'm gonna keep on interviewing him periodically whether he likes it or not.

We conducted this "interview" last night while watching TV so he was quite distracted with the Outdoor Channel. I do realize that next time I do an "interview" with Sean..the TV will have to be off. I started with a few Icebreaker questions that took me asking him three or four times before he realized I was talking.

Q. What's your favorite food ?
Q. Sean, what's your favorite food?
Q. Sean!
A. What?
Q. What's your favorite food?
A. Meat and Potatoes

Q. Where do you see yourself in two years?
A. If its the same time as now..in bed. (it was 10:30)

Q. What your favorite TV show?
A. Family Guy prolly'

Q. Are you excited about Duck Season?
A. Baby, why are you asking me all this crazy stuff?
Me: For my blog, now answer my questions..

Q. How did you feel when you broke the barrier Yesterday?
A . (made a farting sound with mouth) I don't wanna talk about it.
Q. Ok so what's the biggest pet peeve you have about me?
(he's quiet for a minute or two)
Q. What do I do that annoys you the most?
A. There's a lot I'm still trying to decide which one bothers me the most. (he's teasing...or at least he pretends to be teasing) OK..That you can't keep up with anything.

Q. Do you ever think you'll learn to take out the trash when I ask the first time?
A. Whatever!

Q. Are you excited about this finals weekend?
A. yes I'm very excited.

Q. Where are we gonna put the new saddle? if you win it?
A. In the paper for sale.
Q. How much are we gonna ask for it?
A. 20,000..just kidding

Q. What's the fastest time you've ever been at a rodeo
A. 3.2 I think

Q. What are you doing tomorrow?
A. Baling hay

Q. When did you learn how to steer wrestle?
A. when I was in high school

Q. Do you ever get nervous at the rodeo.
A. Not what I call nervous... I don't know it just depends where I'm at. I try not to get nervous. You only compete with yourself.

Q. Do you like it better with a big crowd watching or no crowd at all?
A. You don't notice em.

Q. How do you feel about queens contests
A. Don't' make me answer that truthfully
(Let me insert here that Sean HATES the Queens' contests they do at the Rodeo. They are always before the Steer Wrestling and they take about 30 minutes and it's an awful long time to wait before steer wrestling and who, besides little girls, wants to see the Queens competition? I apologize if I've offended anyone...but we still think they are ridiculous)

Q. How many bruises do you have on your body at the current moment from steer wrestling?
A. (starts to count them) Like seven or eight.

Q. What's your least favorite part about going to a rodeo?
A. Driving

Q. What's your favorite part?
A. You get to see all your friends

Q. How do feel about your facial hair?
A. I told you not to ask me stupid questions or I wouldn't answer them.

Q. Will you shave your face soon?
A. No.

Q. When is the next time you'll shave your face?
A. March, maybe.

Q. Does it itch?
A. no

Q. Does is bother you when icicles get stuck it them? (while duck hunting he grows a very long beard and icicles grow on his beard, it's gross)
A. No you don't feel them, that's the beauty of having a warm beard on your face.

This is what I have to kiss every duck season....I'm really dreading it. He's already started growing that ugly thing.

Next time I'll actually have something interesting to ask him about....

Let's Talk Trash...

Is it just in my life...or do ALL men have trouble taking out the trash?? See, I'm a girl and I don't like to get dirty. I will if I have too but I just don't like it. Trash=Dirty. Boys=Dirty therefore Boys=Trash...right? Take out the trash!!

I clean your dirty laundry with Cow Crap on your pants and half the arena's dirt in your pockets. I wash your dirty dishes and clean your house ( most days ). JUST TAKE OUT THE TRASH!!!

I understand that I don't cook but once or twice a week and you are forced to microwave your food and I understand that I let Birdie sleep in between us at night and you pretend to not like it but, it's your only job inside the house. Please, I beg you, It's smelly...please please please TAKE OUT THE TRASH, please :)

**Let me just state for the record that we do not have a weekly trash pick up. We do not have a trash bin. We have a Dumpster at the Barn that is picked up every few weeks. It's at the In Laws 1/2 a min drive from our house. I have a Tahoe. I can't put trash in that, and I refuse to drive down the road with trash bags full of crap on top of my Tahoe like I'm going on Vacation with Trash for luggage. Otherwise...I would gladly take it out. **

Ok now,I'm finished bickering. I just had to gripe to someone else because I'm sick
of telling my husband to TAKE OUT THE TRASH!

Thanks,

PS. Birdie is 6 months old today!! She's getting so Big. I'm hoping her head will catch up with her body because right now she has a huge body, short legs and a tiny head with Huge ears! She's still cute though. She can Sit, Stay, Come, Fetch and she Puked in the hallway last night :( Let's hope that's not a trick she repeats anytime soon. Happy 1/2 Birthday Pretty Bird!

Why does Banjo always lick his lips when I take a picture??

Shop till you Drop

Ok I think my comments work now...who knows. Try to leave one again and hopefully I fixed it.

So I finally went shopping the week before last for some new summer clothes. I'm to fat for my old ones All my summer clothes from last year shrunk in the dryer. I went to Forever 21 and spent 3 hours and way to much money but It was so much fun and I HATE to shop. They have the cutest clothes at Forever 21 that are very affordable. Here are a few of the items I purchased..

Dresses are a favorite of mine. This dress is super cute. I guess because I'm so short it comes to my knees unlike on the model, making it more appropriate for the workplace. I love love love this dress because the big pockets bulge out and hide the belly bulge beneath it!

This is a little cotton summer dress that was so comfortable I could wear it all day and sleep in it too! It has pockets, which is a super plus for me because I LOVE putting stuff in my pockets beacuse I hate carrying a purse. I love this skirt! I bought a few tanks to go with it. Tuck the tanks in the skirt and it looks great!
Ok so this is the funnest tank top ever! I wore this Saturday night to the concert and got more compliments on how cute it was. It's really fun, I wore it with a yellow racer back tank underneath. The back criss crosses and ties into a slip knot. Super Cute! I finally gave into skinny jeans, and they are precious. Except my legs don't look as skinny as the model's in the picture. I have a little more Junk in my trunk, and spare tires. This Shirt is really cute on. It's chiffon so it's see through, you have to wear another tank under it. You can kind of change the colors with the different color tank underneath. Black makes it look darker and the colors are actually more vivid!
I'm actually wearing this shirt today! haha It's an "off one shoulder" shirt. It's silky and so comfortable. I put on a red beaded necklace and some Red heels, I thought red completed the look.
I could spend a million dollars on all the cute Jewelery they have at forever 21. Go to their website and you will just die! The necklace was 6.50 and the earrings were like 3 bucks. I bought the earrings in white, just couldn't find a picture of them. They are about the size of a dime.

Ok so Those where just a few of the purchases I made last week. I've been shopping online all morning instead of working because that's who I am and I have decided I really like these plaid shirtdresses. I think they would look cute with skinny jeans or tights. I noticed that they were all over the place in the store but I didn't buy any because I wasn't so sure about the plaid, but now I think I'm going to order these below beacuse it's growing on me. What do you think about the plaid??

I mean how cute would this shirt be in the fall at the rodeo?? Maybe it's just me..
Happy Shopping!
