I know My blog is usually about my life in the "now" but I have a pretty funny story that I'd like to blog about, I don't know what reminded me of this but I just had to share. It's really long but if you feel like being semi-entertained then take the time to read it..
Let's travel all the way back in time to the year 2003, My freshman year of college. I had just joined a sorority and we went to all the parties around campus. We hung out with one fraternity in particular that always partied at a guy's house named PJ. PJ lived with is parents in a huge two story house, with a huge deck out back. He lived in the downstairs area, which was like a second house itself with a kitchen, living room, etc. PJ's parents were cool, and would come hang out with us sometime, but for the most part they didn't care how many people were partying at their house, and sometimes there would be close to 100 people there.
We all became really close, those of us who partied together on a regular basis. We were always at PJ's, we'd even have study groups meet at his house to study before we started partying. It was probably the only reason I passed college...those study groups :) PJ's was fun, they started a Midnight Madness party where you woke up at midnight and partied until sunrise...I never did attend those parties, I'd planned on it but once I was asleep, there was no waking me up. There were also White Trash Wednesdays, where you dressed like white trash and partied every Wednesday..hence the name. My favorite costume was where I dressed as a pregnant woman with a black eye and kept a cigarette behind one ear...(thanks Erin) ha!
There was this one guy, Ed, that we partied with that never knew when enough was enough. He would drink himself into a stupor every night and pass out. It became an on going joke to draw on him with Sharpies once he was out. He was also known for wetting himself quite often while passed out. It's kind of sad now that I think about it, we probably should've gotten him some kind of help, but back then it was funny.
One night me and a couple of my Sorority Sisters went over to PJ's house for a party. Late into the night me and my girlfriend, we'll call her Natoshya, went to pee in the bathroom. We went in together because we're girls and that's what we do. Natoshya was paranoid about peeing in a bathroom with a shower/shower curtain because she was always afraid some immature perverted boy would be back there hiding. After telling me this I laughed and told her there was no one behind that shower curtain and then flung the shower curtain back...much to my surprise, laying in the empty tub, was Ed. He was passed out drunk and there was writing all over him. His pants were wet, and low and behold someone had shaved half of his head bald.
We both screamed because we were so startled that someone was actually behind the shower curtain. Apparently, he had wet himself and so they just put him in the tub incase it happened again. The boys got a big kick out of us being startled and then moved Ed into a bedroom and put him to sleep on the floor.
Well, as the night came to a close we started to get our coats together and leave. That's when I realized that my car keys were not in my coat pocket. Anyone who knows me well knows that I'm very bad at keeping up with things. I misplace everything that isn't attached to my body on a daily basis. Sean gets really mad at me for it but I can't help that I'm absent minded, I'm really working on it. Anyway, we turned the entire house upside down looking for my car keys and finally gave up and I luckily had a spare key in my gas tank.
The next day I returned to PJ's house to look for my keys. It was an expensive set to loose...My dorm keys were on my key ring and if you lost your dorm keys then you had to pay 100 bucks. Not to menion the 50 bucks you had to pay for a replacement key for my Jeep. We had no luck finding my keys and I finally just gave up and kicked myself in the butt for being so careless.
As the semester was coming to a close and it became time to turn in my dorm keys, of course they were still missing. I just couldn't help but search one more time for my keys at PJ's house. I thought maybe I should look under his deck incase they fell out of my coat pocket and fell between the cracks in the deck. We searched and searched under that deck and I didn't find my keys, but you'll never guess what I did find... A Ziploc baggy full of hair. I held it up and yelled, "PJ, what in the world his this?" PJ fell to the ground laughing...apparently it was Ed's hair from that night a few months earlier. After they had shaved his hair off, they saved it to give to him the next day. Ew..
To make the story even more weird... four years later, my senior year I got a call from PJ. His parents were redoing the deck and the flowerbeds around the deck. They had uncovered a set of keys in the flowerbeds that looked like they might belong to me. Sure enough, four years later, I found my keys. Even though I had already paid the fine for loosing my dorm keys, and I had a new vehicle and no longer needed the car keys, I was glad to have found them.
I always find what I loose, sooner or later.

My Bad
Every night before bed I take a relaxing hot bath. It helps me wind down and forget the stress of my day and puts me in sleep mode.
Sometimes I read in my bath, Sometimes I just lay there and relax, and sometimes I actually fall asleep! Sometimes I add bathsalts and sometimes I add bubbles.
Sometimes Birdie and Banjo will come lay next to the bathtub with me and nap and once Birdie tried to take a drink of the bathwater. I had to get on to her so she doesn't do that anymore.
Since I've been so busy lately I've started taking my laptop in with me and getting some work done. It's a really small notebook Mac computer so it's light. My bathtub is a huge garden tub so I have plenty of room in there. I'm always careful not to get my Mac wet.
Until Wednesday Night.
I've been pretending the past two days like this accident didn't happen. Like everything is fine and that I'm not stupid but I think last night it finally hit me that I actually did drop my laptop into the tub. I actually did ruin my laptop. My lap top with all my photos on it, with all my editing software, all my music, all my wedding photos...MY WHOLE LIFE is in that stupid lap top..
...Oh but you backed it up right Jenna? You saved everything on a backup drive so you don't have any problems right?
Wrong...
So I've had it open and upside down for the past two days letting it air out, hoping and praying it will work. I turned it on last night and it worked!
Kind of
The screen is no longer colorful. It's very faded and water blotches are everywhere.
The shift key is evidently stuck along with the caps lock key because every time I tried to type I just kept getting this: !@#$%^ AND THIS
I'm typing from my work computer, which will have to be my sole computer until I can get mine fixed but I'm screwed on the weekends.
Do you have any suggestions for me? Can this be fixed or will I have to buy another computer? Can apple fix this or the Geek squad? Has anyone else been this stupid and taken their computer into the bathtub with them then watched in slow motion as it dropped into the water while you desperately tried to stop it but you just couldn't do anything but stare at it open mouthed and dumbfounded?
What does a person do without a computer?! Without the internet!? I'm scared...help me.

Dear, PETA
I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend, I did I'll just have to tell you about it later after I get off my Soap Box.
This is from Mccruelty.com Peta's website against McDonalds. This is what they are upset over and why they started this campaign.
"In the slaughterhouses of McDonald's U.S. chicken suppliers, birds are dumped out of their transport crates and hung upside-down in metal shackles, which can result in broken bones, extreme bruising, and hemorrhaging. Workers have the opportunity to abuse live birds, and birds have their throats cut while they are still conscious. Many birds are immersed in tanks of scalding-hot water while they are still alive and able to feel pain."
This is just ridiculous. I can't believe they stooped this low.

I understand that they are for the Humane treatment for animals but come on people, lets not horrify children in the process.
This weekend, as I listened to Fox News, (because I'm cool like that) I learned a little something about PETA that has pissed me off again.
PETA has started an ad campaign called McCruelty, against McDonalds for serving meat from animals that have been killed in a very cruel way. If PETA believes that animals are being killed inhumanly then fine. I think they have the right to campaign against it if they want, but I'm disturbed by the way they went about portraying McDonald's and Ronald McDonald especially to small children.

I love animals, don't get me wrong. My chocolate children are my obsession and I would Hurt anyone who was mean to them, but a Chicken is not a Dog. I wonder if anyone at PETA has ever been around a chicken. They have a Brain the size of a pea and it is very hard for me to believe that these chickens that are being treat cruelly have any idea whatsoever that they are even being hurt.
We had a bunch of chickens for awhile, Chick Chick was our pet chicken. She was so unaware of anything going on that she got stepped on by one of the horses like three times. She would also casually lay an egg while walking across the barnyard. She was totally unaware that she was even alive. SO I'm pretty sure that she would have not and Idea one that she was being killed in an inhumane way.
Anyway I think PETA does have a right to be upset by the way these chickens are treated though, as I have a right to believe it doesn't matter. (They are going to die anyway...I guess i have no heart.) I don't believe that the worker should abuse the chickens for fun though, as PETA is implying. BUT PETA went a little to far with their ads.
Do Children really need to see Ronald McDonald holding a bloody knife holding up a Happy Meal? Kids Love Happy Meals. This would give me night mares if I was still a child. It actually will probably give me night mares anyway
This is just ridiculous. I can't believe they stooped this low.

Where's my Shoe?
So I thought today I would not talk about American Idol and talk more about my chocolate children. They are in the dog house today, literally. Remember the pretty flowers I planted on the porch, yeah Banjo and Birdie had so much fun playing with them this morning! The picture below is after I tried to re-pot some of them and Birdie was just so proud! So Anyway I put them both in the dog pen and gave them a time out for the morning. I was able to salvage most of the plants but there are a few that had to be thrown away. Banjo would NEVER do this by himself. I think maybe Birdie dared him? He knew he was in trouble too when I walked outside, he hung his head and tucked his tail and went straight into the dog pen. Birdie came running at me so proud of her accomplishment!
***side note*** We are using the book WaterDog to train Birdie, we used the same one to train Banjo and it's an amazing book. Just like any man would do, Sean went out and bought the video. I actually read the book. The video is better. As with any instructions are, it's easier to see someone doing it then to read what they are doing and try picture it in your head. Banjo isn't fully trained yet. We still have to finish him out, but Sean's been working so much we haven't had the time. Banjo will be in good shape by duck season though. Birdie is too young to train yet. Anyway, the book says we can't get onto her
either, she's still not old enough to scold. We have to praise her for everything she does, even if it's wrong, up until she's a certain age. Needless to say I didn't praise her this morning. I was too mad.
Birdie Loves Shoes. This morning I couldn't find one of my boots because she had taken off with it. We don't let her just roam the house but from one minute to the next She'll run into the next bedroom and find something to chew on before you know what's happened. She's sneaky! Banjo never chewed on anything but my box springs. When we moved we stored my box springs and mattress in the garage and he ate a hole in it. That's really all he chewed besides the corner of the boot box and the arms of my father-in-laws expensive reclining lawn chairs. (Sorry Jim) Birdie chews on EVERYTHING. My cow skin rug, the carpet, Banjo, all my shoes, my feet, anything she can fit in her mouth. I think we got one extreme to the next when it came to dogs that chew. She's already chewed all the small cow hides I bought her, all her toys, almost everything in my house has had her sharp little teeth on them. Check out the picture below. As I was leaving my house to go back to work after lunch I was getting into my car and Banjo
walked up wanting to play, I wanted to call in and tell them I wasn't coming back to work so bad. Who could resist this pitiful face. I left him there and watched him sit in the driveway, toy in mouth, through my rear view mirror.
So I'm pretty sure I almost got to see something I've always wanted to see but at the same time never want to experience. A Tornado. I was taking a bubble bath reading Breaking Free by Beth Moore. When I got a text message that said "tornado headed your way." I thought to myself "whatever. It's not even windy or stormy." I looked up into the night sky (through the bathroom skylight above the jacuzzi) and the tree above my house wasn't blowing and it wasn't raining. I jumped out of the tub to turn on the news to channel 4 and sure enough Good ol' Mike Francis informed me that a sevier thunderstorm with rotation possibly
resulting in a tornado was in Traskwood headed for Haskell and if you lived around exit 114 take shelter Immediately!! Well i live half a mile from exit 114 so I Freaked out, woke Sean up, who was pissed I woke him up grabbed the dogs and ran outside to the porch. I mean I want to see a tornado, but this was a little to close for comfort. I always imagined seeing one miles and miles away, one that couldn't hurt me. Anyway, Sean got off the couch and went to bed grumbling and I sat on the porch with Banjo and Birdie to see if I could watch out for the Tornado. I would seriously rather see it coming and THEN run and hide, rather than to just run and hide and not know when to expect it. Plus, in my trailer crib if we get hit, were gone anyway so hiding in the hallway wouldn't matter one bit. I said a prayer then tried to relax. The next ten minutes were pretty boring and uneventful. I just watched Birdie and Banjo play with their toys and watched it lighting in the distance. The wind picked up just a little and I went back to see what Mike had to say. God answered my prayers and there was no longer threat of a tornado just hail, and boy did it hail. Big marble sized hail. Thank goodness we had no hail damage. Birdie got a big kick out of the hail that landed on the deck though. So my goal of seeing a tornado (in the distance) has yet to have been reached.
So Easter is this weekend.
I know a lot of you mom's will think it's a little silly of me but I am really attached to my dogs and very protective. I can't even imagine what I'll be like when I have children. It will be ridiculous. You'll have to pray for my unborn children that they will actually get to live a normal life and not one that keeps them confined in the house with nothing around that could hurt them. As Much as I love my dogs, even though they are dogs, I would never make them go through any harm. I mean I cried when we neutered Banjo because I thought he was in pain. It's really amazing to think that God sacrificed his own Son to be crucified for us. It's amazing that God loves me so much that he let his Son suffer and die upon the cross so that I might have life. So that things would be easier for us. "Us" that are such sinful people, "Us" that has done nothing to receive his honor and mercy and forgiveness, "Us" that has turned our back on him so many times in the past and I'm sure will in the future. God knew everything we were going to do and all the sins we were going to commit, yet he gave his Son so that we might have life through him. It makes me so feel so humbled and loved. My God is a God of love and compassion, My God is a God who will never give me more than I can handle, My God is good, My God is the only GOD! And his Son is just as amazing. He suffered and Died for me so that I can live. He paid the ultimate sacrifice so that someone as insignificant as me could spend eternity with him. Then as if that wasn't enough, he rose from the dead just to prove that he was GOD and that he was the truth. Wow, I'm glad! Happy Easter everyone!
