Fashion

You may be suprised to find this out but Style is not my "area."  I'm not great at knowing what looks good together and what doesn't but I'm really trying to get better at it..though I don't think style is necessarly something you can just learn in a snap of a finger.  If I'm ever wearing a cute outfit it's usually beacuse that's what the mannequin at the store was wearing and I stole her entire look...I was glad to find that Mary Kay had a professional Stylist and makeup artist put together at Trend look for the spring/summer and this year I thought I'd share what's "In."

The Colors that are "in" this spring and summer are energetic bright colors with a tropical vibe.  The stylist tells us to look for light fabrics that are soft to compliment your bright colors..denim and leather tend to be overwhelming in bright shades!  (just say no to purple jeans)  I'm totally loving the girls necklace to the left.  I could never pull off something that huge!! If only my boobs were smaller...

Pulsating prints and tropical florals are a big must have.  Wear the print under a jacket or find a pair of shoes or an accessory in a "can't miss" print to wear with solid colors. Texture is also a big deal with your acessories.  Check out the ones on the left.   Shapes and textures that are inspired by nature such as wood, feathers, and fabric for your accessories.
Comfort fashion is in yay!!  Jersey and cotton and linen are the fabrics to effortly dress up with an accessory... I'm excited to hear this because I love being comfortable.  Infact, I've recently purchased many dresses because they are so much more comfortable than tight pants...which wouldn't be tight if I could loose those extra 10 lbs.

For your face this season is the dewy glistening face with more emphasis placed on the cheeks.  Check out the model in the purple.  Notice her "dewy" look.  A transparant nautrally rosy glow is the key.  I had a girl at a party the other day describe it as the "sweaty" look..it was pretty hilarious. This spring make your cheeks your focal point!  To get this look apply cheeck color to the apples of your cheeks and blend into your temples.  Create a complexion that has been kissed by light.  Apply a highlighter to all the places on your face where sun would hit you, your forehead, cheeks, nose and chin.  The look for your lips are luscious and bright.  Berry colors. I don't look to hot in reds so I'm sticking with the deep browns and purples, like the girl in the photo.

Style your hair away from your face so that your cheeks are the focal point.  Use headbands, or flowers,  or sweep into a long flowing braided ponytail.  I guess that pony tail is out of the questions since I chopped my hair off! Mary Kay's new summer cheek, lip, and shimmer can complete this look. Go to my website to check them out..www.marykay.com/jennathomas... oh and I'm not just trying to sell you on them..I use them daily and LOVE the look!!

I hope you enjoyed my little post of fashion because it probably won't happen again until I get a Winter Trend list :)  I'm good with a tshirt, jeans, and some cowboy boots...or tennis shoes.

Just call me Mrs. Special

I'm pretty sure my husband is going to divorce me...   I haven't done a Thing all weekend and I'm pretty sure the Chocolate Children could hide under the amount of dirty laundry on the floor.   The mountin of dishes in my sink is about to topple and the floor needs vacuuming so bad that I'm pretty sure when I vaccum I'll be able to make another dog with all the dog hair that I pick up.  That is so gross...I promise I'll clean tonight, or tomorrow.  Or Wednesday.

I've been very bored in the last year and decided I need to add more things to my calender and I swear I'm gone almost every night!  Sean is even starting to complain that I'm gone too much...and that is very odd  for his behavior.  He won third at a SteerWrestling Jackpot today in Ft. Smith Yay!  He's decided he wants to try and get a job and stay home for now until he can save up more money and find a group of guys to rodeo with...it's cheaper that way apparently because gas isn't cheap or something like that.  I'm happy that he's back home now, but the job search is getting depressing.  I bet we've applied him for 20 + jobs and no bites yet.  Good thing Mary Kay has pulled us through the bill paying these past two months!

So Friday night and Saturday I went to a Mary Kay confrence and stayed at the Peabody in Little Rock.  If you've never heard of it (it's in Memphis too) they have ducks in the lobby and the ducks walk through the hotel and get on the elevator and ride up to the top balcony and walk around, then go to bed.  It's super cute!  It's a really ritzy hotel too.. 4 whole stars!!  (didn't know Arkansas had 4 star hotels huh?)

When I opened a Mary kay checking account I opened it under Jenna Thomas-Special Account.  (I promise this story is going somewhere)  The debit card that I got says  "Jenna L. Thomas-Special"  apparently there wasn't enough room on my debit card to finish out the "account" part.   When I was checking out of our Hotel, the guy behind the desk was dressed in his spiffy suit and was extreamly nice and helpful, I'm totally not used to that in Hotels.  So I handed him my debit card and he nicely looked at the card and said  "Well Mrs. Special, Did you have a great time this weekend?"   I couldn't figure out why in the hell he was calling me Mrs. Special.  For a minute I really felt "special" and thought it was some new kind of pet name like "baby" or "honey" and that maybe ritzy four star hotels treated people like that.   I just hid my embarassed smile and he handed back my debit card.

I turned to talk to the girls behind me as I was waiting for my receipt and I heard him say "Mrs. Special, excuse me Mrs. Special."  I realized he was talking to me and turned to hear him say he needed my debit card back for a minute.  As I was handing him my debit card, the shiny silver writing on my card caught my eye.  I then realized that if you glance at my card, it totally looks like my last name is Special and that four star hotels weren't the type of hotels that used pet names for their guests.   I almost laughed outloud I was so tickled at his mistake and my stupidity!!   He reran my card, gave me my receipt and said, "Thank you Mrs. Special, you have a great weekend."  I smiled real big and said,  Thank You!

Give Away

Well, you may or may not remember last week when I was MIA for a few days.   The reason why?

Along with selling insurance during the Day,  I'm now also a Mary Kay Consultant!!

I'm really excited about this, and hoping to make a little extra cash to supplement our tiny monthly income.  Since Sean has been riding the rodeo wagon, we are short on money and God dropped Mary Kay in my lap unexpectedly.  So far I'm having alot of fun learning all about the products.  I already wear their makeup so why not sell something I love (and get it 50% off in the meantime!!)

And...Guess what!!  You can buy it from me online, wherever you may live, and have it sent to you for free!!  Yeah,  You can!!
Just visit my Mary Kay Website at www.marykay.com/jennathomas and check out some of the AMAZING skin care and body care products they offer.  And Guess what else!!!  To celebrate my New "Business"  I'm going to have a sweet little give away for you!!  One person will Receive 25% off any purchase off my website and this...

Your Very own Satin Lips Set!!
Apparently, according to medical researches.. We have an extremely thin outer protective layer on our lips.  As we age that thin layer just gets thinner!  To add to the mess, lip skin does not have sweat or sebaceous glands (which would be kind of gross to taste sweat and oil all day long) and without all that sweat and body oil, our lips dry out faster,  chap easier than other skin, and age faster than other areas of our skin.
Enter Satin Lips....
With Satin Lips, the first step "The Mask"  effectively exfoliates dead surface skin cells that cause lips to appear dull and lifeless.  The second step "Lip Balm" is clinically proven to moisturize your lips for at least six hours!

And let me tell you from experience this product is amazing...it's called "Satin" lips for a reason, it really makes your lips feel like satin!!  It took all the dead skin off my very chapped lips and made them feel good for about three days.  I think everyone with chapped lips should use this product!!!

So to enter this give away, just comment on this post!
To enter twice Follow me and let me know you are following, or if you are already a follower.
To enter Thrice Tweet, post, or facebook about it and come let me know that you did!
And for those of you who got an event invite to my debut party, just comment on even comment section and you'll be entered to win!!

So to recap, you could win a Free Satin Lips Set, 25% off an additional product if you like, and lots of love from me :)

Give away ends a week from tomorrow! (2/19)
 Good luck!
