My Bad

Every night before bed I take a relaxing hot bath.  It helps me wind down and forget the stress of my day and puts me in sleep mode.

Sometimes I read in my bath, Sometimes I just lay there and relax, and sometimes I actually fall asleep!  Sometimes I add bathsalts and sometimes I add bubbles.

Sometimes Birdie and Banjo will come lay next to the bathtub with me and nap and once Birdie tried to take a drink of the bathwater.  I had to get on to her so she doesn't do that anymore.

Since I've been so busy lately I've started taking my laptop in with me and getting some work done.  It's a really small notebook Mac computer so it's light.  My bathtub is a huge garden tub so I have plenty of room in there.  I'm always careful not to get my Mac wet.

Until Wednesday Night.

I've been pretending the past two days like this accident didn't happen.  Like everything is fine and that I'm not stupid but I think last night it finally hit me that I actually did drop my laptop into the tub.  I actually did ruin my laptop.  My lap top with all my photos on it, with all my editing software, all my music, all my wedding photos...MY WHOLE LIFE is in that stupid lap top..

...Oh but you backed it up right Jenna?  You saved everything on a backup drive so you don't have any problems right?

Wrong...

So I've had it open and upside down for the past two days letting it air out, hoping and praying it will work.  I turned it on last night and it worked!

Kind of

The screen is no longer colorful.  It's very faded and water blotches are everywhere.

The shift key is evidently stuck along with the caps lock key because every time I tried to type I just kept getting this:  !@#$%^  AND THIS

I'm typing from my work computer, which will have to be my sole computer until I can get mine fixed but I'm screwed on the weekends.

Do you have any suggestions for me?  Can this be fixed or will I have to buy another computer?  Can apple fix this or the Geek squad?    Has anyone else been this stupid and taken their computer into the bathtub with them then watched in slow motion as it dropped into the water while you desperately tried to stop it but you just couldn't do anything but stare at it open mouthed and dumbfounded?

What does a person do without a computer?!  Without the internet!?  I'm scared...help me.

Groundhog day

Man, It's been one of those days that has draaaged oooonnn foooorreeevveeerr.

It's ground hog day maybe that's why if feels so long?  Have I lived this day already??

So yesterday I learned that most of my blog friends are in the same boat as me when it comes to promiscuous husbands.

Some of the many mistresses out there included:

Basketball -1
Brett Farve/Football-3
Fishing-3
Baseball-1
Camping-1
Dear/Duck Hunting-2
Gym-1
Nascar-1
Golf-1
Jesus Christ-1

So although Jesus should be all of our mistresses all of the time...the number one answer of the day was split by Football and Fishing...which ironically will be exactly what I will be doing this weekend! My Friend Allison invited me to her house this weekend to fish, followed by a fun get together for the super bowl...that is extremely ironic...

On an extremely different note: My sister freaked out yesterday because she thought she saw the Chocolate Children running down the interstate on her way home...50 miles away from my house. Both of my dogs are a little too lazy to run 50 miles in a few hours... But in her defense she said one was a big dog like Banjo and one was little like Birdie and they even had on camo collars.

She called my mother and tried to stop to load the dogs up in her 09 Nissan Maxima..(yeah right) and realized they weren't my dogs. She texted me this morning to let me know she had called the highway patrol to pick up the dogs but it was too late and on her way back to school this morning there was one of the unfortunate creatures on the road.

So I'd like to say to the Highway Department....Do your job!!!! I can't imagine what those owners are going through right now.

Oh and the Ground Hog saw his shadow today which means it will be six more weeks of winter... PETA saw the groundhog and has decided he needs to be robotic because Phil just wasn't meant for a pampered life in a library.  Groundhogs were meant to live in the wild and fight with golf club managers and other predators for their lives.

Have a wonderful Tuesday.

Oink

Well Flu Season is in Full Swing at My house. I started symptoms on Thursday and by Friday at My sisters Homecoming I felt pretty awful. I've been asleep on and off ever since then. I went to the doctor today and he confirmed it was the flu and he gave me some cough medicine but said that was pretty much all he could do.

I really think I'm dying...that's how horrible I feel. I regret not getting a flu shot this year. I really was going to...I just never got around to it. You see, I'm scared of needles. Deathly Scared. I pass out every time one enters my skin. Oh I'm about to pass out thinking about it. Is it sad that I would risk getting the flu rather than getting a shot? It's been 5 years since I last had the flu. 5 long years of no flu..5 long years of no flu shot...that would make me immune right?? I thought I was immune!! ...Please no lectures..I've already heard it from Mom.

Thank goodness I was at my parents house when I started feeling bad, now Mom can take care of me and I won't have to depend on Sean who isn't at our house during the day. I accidentally passed the flu on to my Dad, who is feeling about as bad as I am.

The doctor informed me I'd have about one more week give or take a few days to endure this horrible pain So if you don't mind sending Up prayers for me and Dad to have a Speedy recovery it would be much appreciated!

Here are some helpful hints on how to prevent yourself from getting the flu from CDC.gov. Please, use these!! I don't want anyone to have to feel as I do right now!!
*Get a flu shot!
* Wash your hands often with soap and water often! If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub.
* Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Germs spread this way.
* Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
* Follow public health advice regarding school closures, avoiding crowds and other measures to keep our distance from each other to lessen the spread of flu.

If I were you I'd carry around a tub of the water free hand rub, and use it every minute!!

Stay well!

Not so Wordless Wednesday

Wordless Wednesday will contain lots of words and no pictures. Sorry to disappoint my 5 readers.

Today our beloved house/outside cat, Snip died. He was black with four white feet, a white diamond chest, and a white strip on his chin. He looked like he was wearing a tuxedo at all times, kind of funny. He had a slight weight problem, slobbered like a dog, and always tried to claw you when you petted him.

I wasn't that close to him because of the slober and claws but but my sister really was. They aren't real sure what happened to him yet. They think some type of virus and maybe even rabies. There has been an outbreak of rabid skunks in the county and Dad killed a raccoon last weekend that he thinks might have been infected. It was acting all strange. They had to cut the cat's head off to send it in to test for rabies and it devastated my sister. It is kind of sad for her that she can't bury him...with a head anyway.

I am a dog lover so I don't get to attached to cats. I find them quite annoying, though in college I did buy a Persian cat for some silly reason. Because my Dad forbid me. I was attached to Miller at first, but I slowly became detached from him when he started peeing on everything and ruined lots of clothes and furniture. I gave him to my Grandmother who finally got tired of the pee problem and gave him away to some poor unsuspecting fool sweet woman.

I was surprised to hear mom tell me that Snip died. My mother has a history of keeping to herself when the cats die, she told us they (air quotes) "ran away." This started at an early age.

At 8 we were told that Boots "ran away". I'm pretty sure Mom and Dad found him dead in the storage shed, I still haven't gotten that one out of them. I think they feel bad because us small children looked for him for years. Leah actually thought we found him like 10 years later. A stray cat came up for food and Leah was certain he was Boots, he left a few days later, much to Leah's disappointment. The poor thing was probably confused as to why my sister kept calling him Boots and wouldn't quit chasing him around the yard.

Then there was Lucky, who turned out to be not so Lucky. Lucky was Snip's mom. She showed up at our barn with four kittens about 10 years ago. Me and my sisters were just in heaven playing with four small kittens. We gave two of them away and kept the other two, Snip, and Dolly--who is still alive and enormously huge pleasantly plump. Lucky met her maker one day in a hay pallet incident that we won't talk about. Mom just said she "ran away." Mom and Dad finally let me in on the secret but I was not to tell the other girls. I still don't think they know.... well I guess they do now if they are reading. Sorry to break it to you like this girls. She was a good Cat and received a good burial. I'm sorry you couldn't attend.

I also had a cat named Popcorn, she was a calico. I was the only one she'd let touch her. She died at the ripe old age of 15 while I was away at college and Mom didn't tell me for like two months. I came home for Thanksgiving and couldn't find Pop and I asked Leah if she'd seen her, Leah's reply was, "Oh she's around here somewhere." At Christmas when I came home again and couldn't find Popcorn I asked Mom where she was. Mom replied, "Ohhh, Jenna she died before Thanksgiving. I didn't want to tell you until you asked." I was so pissed shocked. Leah had lied to my face! I confronted her on the situation of course and she explained, "Well she was around here somewhere, she's buried in the back yard." Thanks Leah, real sweet.

I guess Mom has realized that I am now a "big Girl" and can handle cat deaths as soon as they happen because she called me and told me we had a tragedy this morning, which really scared me. I was quite relieved to hear it was the cat and not a person. I guess she still doesn't think I'm old enough to know about the tooth fairy and the Easter Bunny though. She hasn't told me they "ran away" yet.
