Yay!

Guess what!? Josh Thinks I'm Kreativ!! I got another award! Yay!! Josh is an amazing writer, I really enjoy reading his blogs about life. Check out his blog, you'll be glad you did!

Apparently the "Kreativ Blogger Award" was started in some European country a few years ago. You just award it to 5 blogs you enjoy reading and it continues to be passed on. So I am to list 5 blogs I like and send them a note letting them know I have given them an award. Then they can copy the logo from my site and post it on theirs. And then they pass it on. That's it. Just a way to spread some love.

I'll post five creative bloggers later today. Just wanted to say thanks to Josh!

Grills & Chairs

I've been meaning to post these since our first anniversary but I keep forgetting.

This is the Grill I bought Sean for our anniversary/his birthday, which is the 30th. I'm pretty sure this was the best gift ever because he has grilled something for me almost every night since we got it. It eats pretty good.

I guess my gift wasn't as thoughtful as Sean's gift to me. I feel a little guilty I didn't try harder. He bought me the really cute and comfortable chairs pictured below. I really needed them too! He also bought the sweetest card and on the inside wrote "To my wife" which made me smile. It's still weird to think of us as husband and wife. Since the first year is supposed to be a Paper Gift he bought me a Twilight Poster as a joke because he knows about my sick obsession with Twilight. He gave it to me and we laughed and then he was like "OK you can throw it away now, I just thought it was funny." I was shocked he actually thought I would ever do something as cruel as throw Edward and Bella in the trash with the chicken fat and uneaten green beans.
I taped them on the inside of my closet door so that every time I get dressed I can see them smiling down at me. Sean gagged.

These are the amazingly comfortable chairs Sean got. I dozed off in them Tuesday Afternoon as I watched it rain. A small summer thunderstorm rolled up around 5 and it was so relaxing. The weather cooled off to about 78 the breeze was blowing and you could smell the rain coming. As I looked out over the pasture I could actually see the rain coming at me. It fell in sheets. At first I could see it coming over the trees next to the river. As it crept towards the house it reached the steers that were all laying down under the trees. They all jumped up and took off loping towards shelter. As it inched closer I watched it cover the horses, who were happy to feel the wet cool water on their backs and they got a renewed source of energy and started running and playing around. When if finally hit the house I could hear the slow patter of rain on the roof and feel the occasional splash of water on my arms as it bounced off the railing on the porch. The musty smell of dirt rising from the rain drops reached my nose and I was relaxed and stress free... I awoke about 30 minutes later when the sun hit my back and my body temperature rose. It was a nice nap. I love days like that.
Rain and cooler weather is in the forecast for next week, hallelujah!!
Have a good weekend!

Informational Post

I awoke this morning to a loud noise that happened to be Banjo playing with his toys. Lazy Birdie was still asleep between my feet at the foot of the bed. I also awoke with an unwanted guest in my ear, nose, throat, and chest in the form of a sinus infection. Great. I got an antibiotic and maybe we'll get it wiped out. Until then everyone will have to hear me talk with b's at the end of every word and hear me cough up my lungs.

So I'm currently reading a few different books, one of which is Elizabeth Hassleback's "The G-Free Diet" Which is a great book for those of you who have Celiac Disease or are interested in finding out about it. Celiac Disease is becoming diagnosed more and more but we still have a long way to go before it's commonly known and correctly diagnosed. In this book Elizabeth mentions something that really made me think about the way our country operates. She thinks that the reason Celiac Disease is uncommonly known about and misdiagnosed is because there isn't a drug that cures Celiac Disease and the Drug Companies essentially own the Health care system and without a Medicinal Cure for Celiace Disease why promote awareness?

I halfway agree with her on this. I don't know much about the Drug industry but I do know that since there isn't a Drug out there to cure Celiac Disease then there isn't a lot of money being poured into an awareness campaign by Drug Companies. It makes you wonder, If there was a medicinal cure for Celiac Disease would less people go undiagnosed? Would less people suffer? Would Gluten free food be more accessible and cheaper for me? Tell me what you think...

Arkansaw

I'm tired and sick with a summer sinus infection and don't feel like posting anything that requires too much thought. I just wanted to take this time to admit to everyone that I'm a law breaker, a rebel, a sinner! I've broken the law. I've flirted with a member of the opposite sex on the streets of Little Rock and according to Arkansas State Law, I should spend 30 days in jail for it!! You may wonder what in the world I'm talking about. According to bored.com (yes I'm bored) that is a real Arkansas State Law. Here are some more :
  • A law provides that school teachers who bob their hair will not get a raise.
  • A man can legally beat his wife, but not more than once a month.
  • A voter is only allowed five minutes to mark his ballot.
  • Alligators may not be kept in bathtubs.
  • An Arkansas legislator not long ago proposed that the state provide growth hormones to dwarfs.
  • At Arkansas State University two people cannot hold hands while standing in a doorway unless they belong to a union.
  • Fayetteville: It is illegal to kill "any living creature".
  • Flirtation between the members of the opposite sex on the streets of Little Rock may result in a 30-day jail term.
  • In Arkansas it is illegal to buy or sell blue light bulbs.
  • It's illegal to mispronounce the name of the state of Arkansas in that state. It's pronounced "Arkansaw"
  • Little Rock: Dogs may not bark after 6 PM
  • It is unlawful to walk one's cow down Main Street after 1:00 PM on Sunday
  • No person shall sound the horn on a vehicle at any place where cold drinks or sandwiches are served after 9:00 P.M.
  • Oral sex is considered to be sodomy.
  • The Arkansas legislature passed a law that states that the Arkansas River can rise no higher than to the Main Street bridge in Little Rock

Walk down Memory Lane

Wednesday's Walk Down Memory Lane

Come for a walk with me down Memory Lane!
And if you have a "Memory Lane" post, head on over to Scottsville to join in on the fun!

So I've been lurking at Erica's page for awhile and thought I'd finally post. I found these pictures of my Mom on Facebook, one of her high school buddies posted them. I thought this would be the perfect time to post them. Although this isn't my memory, it's a walk down memory lane...right?

The year was 1979 and Mom was just announced Homecoming Queen of her High school. (In case you can't figure it out she's the one in the middle with the crown on her head in the dark jacket)

Check out those weird lovely dresses and hair styles

My mom is very pretty. I don't know if I really look like her or not, sometimes I think we look just alike. Then sometimes, like in the picture below, we look nothing alike at all. I look like her more than anyone else in my family though. Maybe I'm adopted??My two sisters could pass a twins. I guess I look a lot like them. Maybe I'm not adopted after all. And here's my personal walk down my not so long memory lane.

Rewind to three and 1/2 years ago. Me and Sean first started dating. So young, so unaware of what we are getting ourselves into. Ah..Puppy Love, He was still a gentleman, and I wasn't griping about his dirty laundry yet.

And he were are last weekend. One year of marriage and two dogs later ;) Oh the pounds we've gained, the hair we've grown, and the Love we've blossomed!

Not so Wordless Wednesday

Wordless Wednesday will contain lots of words and no pictures. Sorry to disappoint my 5 readers.

Today our beloved house/outside cat, Snip died. He was black with four white feet, a white diamond chest, and a white strip on his chin. He looked like he was wearing a tuxedo at all times, kind of funny. He had a slight weight problem, slobbered like a dog, and always tried to claw you when you petted him.

I wasn't that close to him because of the slober and claws but but my sister really was. They aren't real sure what happened to him yet. They think some type of virus and maybe even rabies. There has been an outbreak of rabid skunks in the county and Dad killed a raccoon last weekend that he thinks might have been infected. It was acting all strange. They had to cut the cat's head off to send it in to test for rabies and it devastated my sister. It is kind of sad for her that she can't bury him...with a head anyway.

I am a dog lover so I don't get to attached to cats. I find them quite annoying, though in college I did buy a Persian cat for some silly reason. Because my Dad forbid me. I was attached to Miller at first, but I slowly became detached from him when he started peeing on everything and ruined lots of clothes and furniture. I gave him to my Grandmother who finally got tired of the pee problem and gave him away to some poor unsuspecting fool sweet woman.

I was surprised to hear mom tell me that Snip died. My mother has a history of keeping to herself when the cats die, she told us they (air quotes) "ran away." This started at an early age.

At 8 we were told that Boots "ran away". I'm pretty sure Mom and Dad found him dead in the storage shed, I still haven't gotten that one out of them. I think they feel bad because us small children looked for him for years. Leah actually thought we found him like 10 years later. A stray cat came up for food and Leah was certain he was Boots, he left a few days later, much to Leah's disappointment. The poor thing was probably confused as to why my sister kept calling him Boots and wouldn't quit chasing him around the yard.

Then there was Lucky, who turned out to be not so Lucky. Lucky was Snip's mom. She showed up at our barn with four kittens about 10 years ago. Me and my sisters were just in heaven playing with four small kittens. We gave two of them away and kept the other two, Snip, and Dolly--who is still alive and enormously huge pleasantly plump. Lucky met her maker one day in a hay pallet incident that we won't talk about. Mom just said she "ran away." Mom and Dad finally let me in on the secret but I was not to tell the other girls. I still don't think they know.... well I guess they do now if they are reading. Sorry to break it to you like this girls. She was a good Cat and received a good burial. I'm sorry you couldn't attend.

I also had a cat named Popcorn, she was a calico. I was the only one she'd let touch her. She died at the ripe old age of 15 while I was away at college and Mom didn't tell me for like two months. I came home for Thanksgiving and couldn't find Pop and I asked Leah if she'd seen her, Leah's reply was, "Oh she's around here somewhere." At Christmas when I came home again and couldn't find Popcorn I asked Mom where she was. Mom replied, "Ohhh, Jenna she died before Thanksgiving. I didn't want to tell you until you asked." I was so pissed shocked. Leah had lied to my face! I confronted her on the situation of course and she explained, "Well she was around here somewhere, she's buried in the back yard." Thanks Leah, real sweet.

I guess Mom has realized that I am now a "big Girl" and can handle cat deaths as soon as they happen because she called me and told me we had a tragedy this morning, which really scared me. I was quite relieved to hear it was the cat and not a person. I guess she still doesn't think I'm old enough to know about the tooth fairy and the Easter Bunny though. She hasn't told me they "ran away" yet.

Not Me Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

This is what I did not do this weekend:

I did not travel 600 miles this weekend in one big circle to visit three rodeos and spend all my money.

I did not spray "off" on me in the convenient store because I didn't want to buy the whole can. (p.s. when I told dad about this he said he was disappointed that I stole from the store---i didn't see it that way)

And I did not buy Boone's Farm at this convenient store either because who can resist?

I definitely did not pee pee behind the horse trailer because I wouldn't get within 10 feet of the porta-potties. No, I would not do that!

I did not get home Saturday night at 2:00 am and have to talk my husband out of going to the Electric Cowboy (bar) and then we did not stay up for a couple hours practicing roping.

I did not leave my chocolate children inside the house all day accidentally Sunday while I went to my hometown. They did not sleep all day in the air conditioning and Did not keep me up last night because they were wide awake and wild.

I did not clean out my car yesterday and it did not take me two hours. I did not take two large BOXES full of things back into the house from my car, and I did not find five spoons, and three cups, and a few things I thought were lost forever.

I did not go to bed last night at 1:30 because my husband got stranded on the river fishing and didn't get in until late. Then he did not make me help him take down panels (temporary fences) in the arena at midnight because he forgot to earlier.

And finally, I did not eat, three bags of chips, two chili cheese nachos, one candy bar, 1 big Mexican meal, A large bag of kettle corn, 3 bags of peanuts, and a subway salad--between Friday at 5 and Saturday Night. Nope, not me!

Father's day & Snakes

I had a wonderful Father's Day. I traveled to Nashville to see my Dad. Me and my sisters and Dad took a Sunday drive around town and visited my Granddad's grave and then went to check out the new football stadium our High School is building. We had a great afternoon, we went fishing and caught nothing, but I did get my pole tangled in the electrical line that runs over our pond. That was real scary.

I'm very thankful to have such a loving and giving Dad. He works very hard to provide for us and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't thank God so much for the perfect Father on earth. I also have a wonderful Father-In-Law and a wonderful Grandad, who is my mom's dad and is 85 this year. He's one of the nicest men I've ever met and I'm proud to have him as a Grandfather. Dad's birthday was also last Wednesday, Mom and us girls gave him the Rosetta Stone Spanish CD's. He wants to learn Spanish and maybe I can learn too!

My Grandad, Dad's Dad learned to speak pretty fluent Spanish. He taught himself. On the first of June it will be six year since he passed. I can't believe it's been that long. Seems just like yesterday. My heart still aches ever time I see someone smoking Capri 120 cigarettes, his favorite, or every time I see someone playing a keyboard. I can still hear his deep voice say, JennaJennaJenna! I'll never forget the time when I hadn't found out I had celiac disease yet and was very sick but we didn't know what was wrong. It was very scary. Grandad would come over all the time and rub my back and feet and fix me stuff to eat. He loved his grandchildren and never let us go without. I miss him so much and still breakdown sometimes. Oh how I wish they could find a cure for cancer. He went through a lot there at the end and I know he's glad to be with his Father in Heaven now, even though I know he misses us kids.

I'll never forget the time me and some girlfriends spent the night at Granddad's house just after he finished building it. I was about 16. The three other girls staying got a craving for sausage biscuits and wanted to go to the convenient store down the road for some biscuit's. I didn't want to leave in case Grandad woke up and didn't know where we were. So, I laid down on the couch and watched some Wheel of Fortune. The back door of his new house walked into the kitchen which faced the TV in the living room. The couch of course was pointed towards the TV so when walking in the back door you saw the back of the couch. When the girls walked in the back door they laughed and said, "Good joke Jenna, where'd you get that toy snake." I had no idea what they were talking about so I set up and turned around to look and there on the tile floor was a black scaly, shiny, scary, and slightly fake looking snake. I was kind of in a panic and I said "holy crap how'd that get there!" My friends still thought it was a rubber toy snake and that I was pulling a joke. I kind of thought they were playing a joke on me until the snake moved and they all screamed!! It slithered really fast all the way across the kitchen tile, onto the carpet and under the couch I was sitting on! I was very excited and freaked out and jumped over the back of the couch into the computer nook off the side of the kitchen where the other girls ran. We hollared at Grandad and he sleepily, and grumpily came into the kitchen to see why we had woke him up. We explained there was a snake under the couch and he told me to go get the broom and a paper sack. I had no Idea what was about to happen but I knew I wasn't going to get anywhere near that snake. Grandad had us lift the couch up after much begging, to uncover the snake. Two of us lifted the couch but at any moment would've dropped it and ran if that snake so much as moved towards us. Grandad then used the broom to sweep the snake back onto the kitchen tile floor and then told me to hold the paper bag open while he swept it into the bag. He actually had to tell me to do this about six time then finally threatened me within an inch of my life if I didn't help. I was nervous and tense and was on guard to run. The second he swept that snake towards the bag it rolled and kind of jumped up. I took off running towards the comptuer nook and jumped onto the first chair I could get to. Unfortunately the chair had rollers wheels on it and out from under me it went. I'm pretty sure I was up in the air for about 15 seconds before I hit the floor. I was in too much pain at this point to worry about getting injured from this snake. I was ready to get rid of it. I hopped up and grabbed the bag and Grandad swept the snake into the bag, we took it outside and let it go. Grandad and me and all my friends were laughing so hard we couldn't breath. My friends still tease me about that night!

So Happy Late Fathers Day to all dad's out there. I love all the Fathers in my Life and Miss my Grandad very much!

Ahem...

Everyone, I have an announcement to make.
I have decided after a long three years of fighting it, that I'm going to try and become....

a cowgirl.

I've decided to try to rope. Yeah I know you're thinking it's a bad idea. But seriously think about it; I'm out at the arena every night sitting in a lawn chair just watching everyone else being cowboys and cowgirls, I basically go to every rodeo anyway and sit by myself in the stands, so why not compete myself?? I mean look:
  1. I'm very competitive and pretty athletic in my opinion
  2. I'm there anyway
  3. It looks fun
  4. I'm in desperate need of a hobby
  5. Zero turned out to be a pretty good little horse to start on
  6. What better way to spend time with my husband?
  7. And I'd look great in Clothes like this:

Ok that part was a joke. No one wears clothes like that at a rodeo.

The only down side will be

  1. I'll have to get dirt under my nails
  2. It can get smelly around horses and cows
  3. I'll have to get dirty
  4. I look horrible in cowboy hats
  5. I'll have to work hard
  6. I'll have to get dirty
  7. I might humiliate myself
  8. And last but not least I'll have to get dirty.

Anyway so I just wanted to let everyone know my decision. I've been practicing all week and it's pretty convenient to have a M-I-L who gives riding/roping lessons for a living when your trying to learn. I've started practicing by roping a bucket. This goal may take a while folks. I'll keep you posted!

Urban Vocab

I'm a Horrible Speller, and I mean horrible. Is it sad that when I'm writing things on paper my mind automatically thinks spell check? That's how little I write on paper. In fact, does paper writing still exist??
If you ever see misspelled words on my blog It's because the ABC check didn't catch it and I thought that's how the word was spelled. So anyway if you notice that when you post a comment on someone elses blog you cannot spell check it. (or if you can I haven't figured it out yet, please let me know how) Normally, I just type in dictionary.com and look the word up I need to spell, today for some reason I absentmindedly typed in dictionary.com into google instead. Up popped a neat little website that kept me rolling for at least an hour. I'm pretty sure I've seen this website before but It was lost to my memory until today. Urbandictionary.com (Warning: if you visit the site please be warned there are some x rated words defined..browse carefully)

I found this word and It totally describes me. I've never been asked to name one word that describes me but if I was asked, this is what it would be..

chronoptimist: A person who always under estimates the time necessary to do something or get somewhere. ex. "Hey, Cindy. you know my parents are expecting us in 20 minutes." "No problem. I just have to wash the dishes, take a shower, do my hair, walk the dog and then I'm all good to go. See you in 15." "You are such a chronoptimist! I'll see you in 45."

Here are some other fun word definitions you might like:

Cell Phone : In the olden days, movie theatres used to have orchestras to accompany the film. Today, they have cell phones, a portable communication device sent from Hell. It is fine if used in moderation, but it almost never is. ex. "Marsha, I don't know what I'd do without you. But I'm afraid I must reveal that the secret killer of our lovers is…" **Brii-i-i-i-i-i-iiiiii-i-i-iii-ii-ng!** "Hello? Hi! Yeah. What's up? Uh-huh. Me too. Eh, nothing much. In the middle of a movie. What? No, I didn't yet. Wait…hold on. People are being rude and throwing things at me."

Or maybe this one..

Edward Cullen : every boyfriend's nightmare
ex. Girlfriend: You know, Edward Cullen would never do that
Boyfriend: ?!

This made me laugh:

blogger street cred : Short for "web logger street credibility" 1. The amount of respect you have gained from other members of your blogging community ex: "I wonder if I have blogger street cred?"

And last but not Least:

granny panties :A pair of underwear which are usually A) larger than the woman who wears them. B) Very stretchy and elastic. C) The best pair of undies you'll ever wear. Most people frown upon them because, as we all know, the smaller your undies are, the cooler you are. But in terms of comfort and practicality they beat thongs by a mile or more. ex: What Jenna was wearing when the wind blew her skirt over her head.

Hahaha have a fun Thursday Evening!!

It's a boy.. & a girl!!

No I'm not having children, and no I'm not talking about the chocolate children. I'm talking about my new roomies A & R! A couple that Sean knows through bulldogging from New Mexico has come to stay with us for a few weeks. At first I was a little leery of this because I don't know them that well, (Sean Does) but so far it's been great. They have been here since Monday and I'm pretty sure I've gained one million pounds because of all the amazing food we've eaten. A is an amazing cook. Being from New Mexico and all she loves to cook spicy food so everything she's cooked has been really hot! We went to the grocery store last night and I'm pretty sure she cleared out their jalapeno stock. She also loves to clean so it's ok with me if they stay FOREVER!

I wasn't aware of this because I've never really been out west in the summer but apparently they have NO humidity out there. Poor A wanted to know why her hair was starting to curl and then when I explained to her the humidity here in Arkansas was the culprit, she asked when it was going to go away. I didn't really have the heart to tell her NEVER. I wonder if she thinks my hair is just naturally frizzy and kinky curly?

We've been at the arena almost every night and A & R are slowly exercising their horses out because they are afraid they will kill over in this heat... or maybe they are just pretending to work their horses can't handle it because they are afraid they will kill over themselves?? To tell you the truth I'm a little afraid I'll kill over in this heat!! It's so stinking hot. I'm pretty sure an egg would've fried on my forehead last night.

R is a very good steer wrestler and is currently winning the Turquoise Circuit in the PRCA (it includes some of the south western states) He decided to come out this way to hit some of the Rodeo's in the area with Sean for the next few months.

**S Job update** Sean got a call from a friend of his Dad's who had recommended him for a pretty great job. Sean applied and so far things look pretty hopeful! The job isn't available until after summer so S will get to bulldog all he wants. He's doing some odds and end jobs on the farm right now which includes hauling hay in 100 degree heat. I feel a little sorry for him as I sit in my air conditioned office. As a matter of fact I need to turn on my space heater on because I'm a little chilly.

Stay Cool Out There!

It's an Award!!

It's Not Monday anymore so I'm having a wonderful day! First of all I'd like to point out my new blog design by shabbyblogs.com. Thanks to Jenna & The Lane Domain because I totally stole the website she used and picked out a new layout. Her blog has recently had a really cute makeover also!! Thanks Jenna!!

Next on the blog agenda. What? What's that??! I received my first award??!!! Oh Oh Oh Oh my I totally wasn't expecting this... Thank you so much Kimber! I..I..I want to thank my boss and all my coworkers for not stumbling upon my blog and firing me because I blog instead of work....Um... um..I'd also like to thank God of course..and Sean, and My Chocolate Children for giving me topics... Oh my.. I know I'm leaving someone out...oh yeah thank YOU blog world for reading my blog!!

Ok so I really didn't do anything to get this award, {Kimber} gave me an award for helping name her new iphone, but it's still an award- and it's still my first!! and that would totally be my acceptance speech if I received a blog award for actually doing something worthwhile. haha Go check out A day in the life of a girl named {kimber}, she's a lot of fun and she's always got something going on over there!!

So I have a situation. Sean really wants to send Birdie to the trainer for a few months to finish up her schooling. On one hand I think "yes, take her, she will be so well mannered and we have so little time", On the other hand I will miss her if she leaves and if I can talk Sean into seriously devoting some time into training and if I sacrifice some couch time and help her myself (which in reality probably wouldn't give her the same training as a pro would) but then I won't have to miss her big hound dog ears or her sweet almond eyes and if she leaves I will miss my warm feet from her sleeping on top of them at the bottom of the bed and I'll miss her sweet kisses and her puppy breath. Oh what do I do??? Leave me a comment and help me decide and you'll win an award too!!

Have a great rest of the day!

Under Construction

I'm currently under construction. Can't you hear all the saws and hammers?? Thanks to Jenna Lane I found a cute new place for backgrounds and am giving myself a makeover. Check back for the final results!

Not Me Monday's

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

So last week I did not go to the eye doctor and tell her I couldn't see and she did NOT tell me I had my contacts in the wrong eye. I did not sleep with both of my chocolate children in the bed on Saturday night and did not let them stay when Sean got home which did not force him to sleep on the couch. Birdie did not pee in the house three times. Birdie did NOT pee in the house three times. Birdie did NOT PEE IN THE HOUSE THREE TIMES!

I did not have a nervous break down last night while trying to repair a light fixture which did not lead to me taking it out of the ceiling and doing some minor electrical work. And this did not make S mad one bit.

I did not try to climb through a fence to get my picture taken for the newspaper for a fundraiser I'm doing for Rance (because the photographer insisted we take a picture by a horse and it was inside the fence) and the wind did NOT blow my skirt over my head and everyone did NOT see my undies and boo-tay.

I did not eat gluten free cake for dinner three nights this week and I did not gain five pounds since my last weigh in. I also did not drink 5 coke zeros this weekend and did not have three candy bars and a bag of chips at the rodeo.

And last of all I did not forget to do the laundry last night and S did have a dry pair of jeans to wear today :)

Goodbye Monday

Is there anyone out their that actually likes Mondays? Maybe Monday's should be taken out of the week, but then I'd hate Tuesdays. Really though, it's not the whole Day of Monday that I hate, it's Monday mornings.
I had a sucky Saturday and an OK Sunday due to Celiac Disease and a major migraine but Friday I actually had a great time. So Friday afternoon around 2:30ish a major thunderstorm blew up and work was no longer a workplace. Everyone upstairs came running down stairs, the tornado sirens went off, and it rained so hard you could hardly see outside. There were limbs and trees down all over town! Sean and I were supposed to leave for a rodeo at 3:00 so I had to drive home in the storm, it had let up a little by then. When I got to the barn I found Sean running around in a camouflage rain poncho gathering up goats. A tree had fallen onto his mothers goat's pen and they all ran for the hills. It was a sight!
Sean and I were the only two to go to the rodeo so it was kind of fun. We took the scenic route to Lincoln,AR (up near Fayetteville) and got to see lots of beautiful scenery. We also saw a dairy farm. We don't have those around here in central Arkansas. It was neat to see all the black and white dairy cows! It was also nice to spend the evening alone with Sean. We are having one of Sean's friends from New Mexico stay with us for a few weeks so we aren't going to have many alone nights for awhile. By the way have you ever heard anyone from New Mexico speak? Their accent is really different!

Anyway I rounded out the weekend in bed with a migraine and cleaned the house a little.

Wow what a boring post, no wonder no one reads this thing! Here, here are some pictures of the dogs to make even more boring!
We hear a fourwheeler!
There it goes!Wait he's leaving!Ok Banjo How do I get out there?

Bye mom!

Show us where you live Friday

It's Friday! Show us where you live Friday! This week is bathrooms. I didn't really want to show my bathrooms this week because they aren't the cutest, but I will show you what I found in my shower! Birdie! For some reason she loves it here. When we let her inside she runs straight to the shower and lays down. We aren't sure if there is something wrong with her or not but her obsession with water is a little strange. She likes for us to turn on the shower so she can get wet. Whenever she goes missing inside we know where to look. Hope you have a great weekend! See you next time!

My Chocolate Children

Well it's Friday and I have nothing of importance to blog about, I'm just ready to sleep in tomorrow especially after an hour of hell Cardio Boot Camp. (yeah! I learned how to use the strikethrough font!) I can't feel my body and I'm pretty sure I sweat enough last night to fill a small swimming pool. I've had a long week and am ready to rest. By the way, do you know how embarrassing it is to go to the eye doctor because you think your vision has changed only to have the Dr. tell you you have your contacts in the wrong eyes? I do!
Those of you who read my blog know how in love I am with my Chocolate Children. Birdie turned four months old last weekend so I thought I'd post some pictures of her and Banjo as they have aged.

This is Banjo at 12 weeks old. Sean surprised me one day and brought him home with a cute little blue bandanna tied around his neck. I fell in love instantly. Sean had already picked out the name Banjo Bojangles in case you are wondering why anyone would name a dog that cute something that ugly unusual.
Here is Birdie at 12 weeks. A bit smaller than Banjo was. This picture makes me cry. I wish they would stay that sweet and small forever! (But learn how to potty outside) Because she was probably the prettiest puppy we had ever seen, we named her Pretty Bird, which is what mom used to say to me when I was a baby when we saw birds, which is probably why my first real word was "bird."

This is Birdie at 14 weeks. Notice she's about the same size as Banjo was at 12 weeks. Check out how much Sean has changed...wow.
This is Banjo at 4 months old. Around the same age as Birdie is right now. He was so much calmer than she is.

Here's Birdie now in the same seat! They like to ride in my car. (See here & here) I finally found a seat protector at Cabela's for the back bench seat. I love it! It covers great and is the same color as my seats. It's also waterproof. Too bad they don't make one for bucket seats.
Here's Banjo now. He weighs in at about 80 pounds. Notice the toy he has. It's a duck head. I ran over his favorite stuffed duck with the lawn mower so now he just carries around the thing's head, it's a little disturbing. I'll have to buy him another duck. This is duck #2. Duck #1 got the stuffing torn out of him and was just a limp piece of fabric...nice. I'm pretty sure it's unhealthy to love your puppies this much!
