Blog Hop Baby Pics

Today's Blog hop is Baby Photos, which is ironic because I just posted baby pictures of me and Sean about three days ago. Well here's some more for ya!! I made a slide show of baby pictures of me and Sean for our wedding reception so I have a million on my computer. These are a few of my favorite.

We didn't dress like this on a daily basis..
Again, I PROMISE we did not dress like this on a daily basis.

I have a lot of baby photo's of me wearing glasses...

And Swimsuits..
And of course the post would be incomplete without my Chocolate Children's Baby Photos..Banjo, above and Birdie below.

Have a great Week, Happy Hopping!

Oh deer

Deer season is just around the corner. What does that mean for me you ask? Well, I won't see my husband until after dark for one. Second of all I will be pestered because He likes for me to go too. Not with him though I might add (apparently I can't stay quiet enough), but by myself.

Now I do find this quite sweet, him wanting me to enjoy what he enjoys and all, but I'm not the avid hunter. So anyway deer season brings the daily pestering of, "Jenna go hunting with me." I will again remind you that it's not "with" him, I'd be nowhere near him. I'd be totally by myself so why he enjoys that is beyond me. D you know how BORING it is to sit in a tree stand, quiet all day? It's horrible. Horrible. I can't stand it. I think this year If I go, I'll sneak a book into my backpack and just read all day.

Last year I did shoot my first deer ever. It was a doe. It was tiny. I felt horrible because it was so tiny BUT, there is a story behind why it was so tiny, kind of. There were two doe, does, doe, ?? anyway Sean and I were in the truck...yeah it probably wasn't legal. We were driving out of the pasture and we saw them. Sean made me get out of the truck and said,"shoot the bigger one." I propped my gun on the hood of the truck and aimed at what I thought was the bigger one, but somehow I misjudged and the smaller one fell. Don't ask me how I misjudged..I was nervous. The meat was delicious though! I had to take all the meat off of it myself. It was really hard. I couldn't skin it though. That made me a little sick.

Anyway last week I went to watch Sean plant a food plot in the hay field. The grass is like seven feet tall. I was bitten by 37 mosquito's and one tick. I swear I got Lyme disease. I swear I'm not a hypochondriac, but Web MD said I had Lyme disease.

The weather was beautiful and we got all the winter peas planted. And I took pretty pictures of grass. So watch out deer, here I come!!....with my book!

Friday Post

It's Friday!! After a brief stay at Mom & Dad's complete with Sleeping in Late and a Massage, I'm back at work and back to blogging. I'm super excited about the upcoming week. The weather is supposed to be perfect, the low 80's with no chance of rain. Oh How I love Fall Weather!! I can smell football season! It has a smell, I promise.

My work computer crashed today and I lost a lot of valuable information and photos so I'm a little bummed. BUT I get a brand new computer, which is super exciting!!! I just bought a wireless mouse and keyboard which makes my desk super clean without wires everywhere. My mouse is really fun too! Instead of an hour glass when my computer is loading something, my mouse is a banana and it peels itself then disappears as if it's being eaten. It's so much fun! ha!

I don't have much to say today and MckMamma posted about herself so I think I'll do like she suggested and post about myself too. Although most of my readers already know me, some of them don't so here goes.

March 5th 1985 5:45pm I was born in Texarkana Tx a few days early. It would be the last time I was early for anything ever in my life. ever.

March 7th 1988, My sister Leah was born. I don't remember it. Erin was there being babysat by my grandmother who when to the hospital with my mom for her checkup when she went into labor. I was at home.

1990 I started Kindergarten. I remember dreading it and pulling into the parking lot thinking this was the first day of the rest of my school career. Even then I was sentimental. I also remember feeling like and idiot because the Kindergartners had to wear name tags and the first graders didn't.

1991 Melissa is born. We went to visit Mom and baby Melissa in the hospital and they wouldn't let us in her room to see her. Mom's room was on the ground floor and Dad snuck us in through the window.

Easter 1993 I gave my Life to Christ and was Baptized on Easter. I couldn't wait to tell everyone at school. I remember wondering if I would get water up my nose.

1997 Made Jr. High Cheerleader and started a 6 year long career of cheerleading for our School Mascot, The Scrappers.

Fast Forward to 2003 Graduated High School & Started College. Joined a Sorority and had a Blast!

2006 Met Sean at a Concert and we hit it off immediately and started Dating soon after. I knew he was the one within a few weeks! Odd thing was my sister and his brother were "talking" and started dating before Sean and I became Official Boyfriend/girlfriend. We didn't even know they knew each other.

2007 Sean moved to Houston in the Spring to work for Chevron and after Graduating college I soon followed.

Winter 2007, My relationship with Christ was strengthen dramatically when I learned to lean on him as I was extremely homesick. I also learned at this time that He is the only one who can offer true Happiness. I also got Engaged on the boardwalk in Kemah overlooking the Houston skyline.

Summer 2008 Sean and I got married and moved from Houston into a Rent House. We bought adopted Banjo!

One Month later: Rent house sold and we had to move out within 50 days of moving in. We had to move in with his parents while we looked for a place. We finally decided to put a house on his parents land and moved again. In two years I moved 6 times. Talk about stressful.

Spring 2009: Sean Gets Laid off and starts to look for new Jobs. Birdie is bought Adopted and Work picks up for me and Rodeo Season starts and Our income is supplemented by Sean's winnings.

Now: I'm Working hard and seeing a promising career unfolding, though Sean can't say the same. He's still looking for a promising career and in the Meantime, taking care of the farm and Rodeoing. I know God has a plan for me and Sean and I can't wait to look back and see what all has been done in our livhttp://www.mycharmingkids.net/es!

Boring huh? Now do the same so I can read about you!!

Soul Mates??

Let's go back to the Mid 1980's for this post. Sean and I must have been meant to be together!! We have so much in common!

We both like to lick icing off the beaters as children ......

I guess he liked vanilla and I was more of a chocolate kind of girl...
...And check this out...we had the same pair of glasses!

And apparently my parents wanted me to be a biker.

I'm Nuts

So I'd like to let you in on a little embarrassing secret of mine.
I love office supplies!
It's a weird obsession but I. really. love. office. supplies. really.

I had to run to Office Depot to get a new mouse for work and I was in there for an hour! I was very much unaware of the many different styles and colors of office supplies that are available now. I mean.. Check out these really pretty file folders. These are so much more appealing than the manila ones I use. (much more expensive too) But it would really just brighten my day at work to open my file folder and find COLOR!Look at all the different color paper clips etc.!!You can even get decorated scissors now!!And you don't have to buy the boring yellow Post It's anymore. Look at all the colors and designs!!
Holy Moly...look at all the colors. Did you know they made that many shades of Sharpies??
These were my splurges of the day. Paper clips that are swirly. My paperclipped papers are coolest in the office now...

I just couldn't resist buying these paper clips. They look like Hangers and clothes and made me wonder who in the world thought these would be a good idea... no one would ever buy these...except for me, but I'm obsessed with office supplies so I don't count.

And of course no office is complete without monogrammed Post Its.

Now that my paper clips and Post It's are colorful and exciting, I'm going to go to work!!!

Blog Hop

Today's Blog hop is Labeled "Time to Laugh." I got these photo's in an e-mail and thought they were pretty cute. I could totally use that Mic sponge! My shampoo bottle just doesn't feel enough like a microphone!

This is just wrong on every level....
Pure Genius... except I don't think this umbrella would hold up to rain drops like that...
Now...Why is this not used more widespread?? What a great place to store all your crap.
Thanks for visiting.. Happy Hopping!

Applebutter Jeans

Things have been a little stressful in Jenna's world here lately. If you happen to think about it..slip me into your prayers!
Last night I went over to my In Laws for dinner. My MIL had made some Applebutter, which was a new little treat to my taste buds. I'm not quite sure but I believe it was made with Apples, butter, sugar, and a few teaspoons of HEAVEN. It was delicious! I was advised to use it on my pork chops and Oh...My...Gosh.... Angels sang when that sugary treat of goodness touched my tastebuds. I wonder what else I could put Applebutter on?! Chicken?? Muffins?? I should probably just skip the eating process and put the applebutter in the back of my jeans pockets because that's where it will be (on my bootay in the form of cellulite) if I don't just forget it ever existed. Oh... the joy of applebutter.

While I was there I decided to make a Dangerous Chocolate Cake. Someone had posted a blog about it a few days ago. I don't remember who or where, but it reminded me that I needed to make one. My MIL has the recipe so while I was over there last night I made myself a very dangerous chocolate cake.

MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons baking cocoa
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
  • Small splash of vanilla

Notice I used Bob's Red Mill Gluten free all purpose baking flour.. it worked perfect!!

Add dry ingredients to mug and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla, and mix again. Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don’t be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired. EAT!

(They aren't kidding about the cake rising over the top, me and my in laws stood in front of the microwave like idiots taking bets on when it would fall. Just look at the picture above...it looks like the cake is about to explode)

Leann had gotten this e-mail a while back from a friend and we both wondered how long it took someone to figure this recipe out. Thank you whoever you were, from microwave chefs all over the world!

Here's the finished product! After it cooled I cut it in half and added icing. Delicious!

all new

New blog name...new design... maybe it will cheer me up, its been stressful here lately.

Since Sean has very little to do with the blog.. and by very little I mean none at all... I have decided to exclude him until further notice. (No offense Sean)

I ran across the definition of Jargon on some website and thought it fit perfect to what I do. Even though I haven't coined any terms that would be considered Jenna jargon, I do have some meaningless talk going on on my blog and half the people who read it probably have no idea what I'm talking about and lets be honest.. a lot of my blog entries can get pretty unintelligible.

Hope you like it..

Top Ten Thursday

So today I have decided to participate in a blog carnival for Top Ten Thursday. I've been lurking at Domestically Challenged blog for awhile, I guess today I delurk.

Today's topic is .... "The top ten websites I'm on when I'm not blogging."

1. Most of the time I'm at work... I'm an independent insurance agent. I do all my quotes online, so I could probably do a top ten on the websites I quote on daily but I'll spare you that and lump them all into one big group: Work Websites

2. Ebay- I'm addicted. Totally addicted to e-bay. I buy random things I do not need all the time on e-bay. I have a really bad habit of bidding on something and thinking, "someone will out bid me if I really am not meant to buy this." Usually it's something totally useless that I shouldn't bid on and when I win it, I have to buy it because it was "meant to be." Right?

3. This one may seem odd but Rodeo Association Websites. I check the year end standings on all the Associations Sean is apart of to see how much money he has won and where he stands in the year.

4. Regions.com. It's where I bank. I get on all the time and look up where I stand money wise. I check Sean's account also because he's so bad with money and he never keeps up with how much is in his account. I have to call and let him know when he's spending too much. Which happens often by the way. I'm about to sneak into his wallet and steal his debit card and then pretend I don't know what he's talking about when it comes up missing.

5.The Weather Channel because they inform me on whether to wear my hair curly (rain/humidity) straight (no rain) or in a pony tail (so Hot I can't breath) They also let me know when to run for cover from Tornado's.

Ok how many more?? Gah I'm running out...

6. I guess I'd have to say Yahoo Entertainment page. Yahoo is my home page so every time I open my Internet explorer I can't help but being enticed by all the teaser headlines they have about Hollywood.

7. This isn't really a web "site" But I always have Pandora's Box opened in my browser to listen to good music!

8. Um... Google...I'm always randomly googling something for entertainment.

9. Facebook. This used to be my #1 until I got tired of it. To much going on with facebook now. I just use it for good gossip now. My hometown people always tell EVERYTHING about themselves on their facebook statuses.

10. uh...I'm grasping at straws here...uh...uh... mapquest??

Whew..that was hard. What are your top ten websites??

Holding on to Sanity

My Chocolate Children and my Hubby are driving me to insanity! Sean still hasn't found a job and is starting to get on my nerves. I mean, at first it was horrible but now it's getting better. At least now he's helping out around the house. He did the dishes and the laundry yesterday. And he cooks all the time! It's hay season so that is keeping him semi-busy. He's applied for a few jobs but they haven't worked out.

If you don't mind praying for us we kind of need it! Sean has won enough money at the rodeo to keep us in the black but it's getting tight! I'm really stressed out about it. We need prayers that a job Sean will like will come available soon and prayers that I can keep my sanity!

On to my Chocolate Children....Birdie snores. Birdie snores louder than Sean. Birdie also has a bad habit of jumping on the bed and couch. Sean is really getting mad about it. He's harsh with her because he says she is a dog and needs to mind. But I just can't get on to her. She looks at me with those big brown puppy eyes and I melt! She's such a sweet dog. She loves her momma. She's getting bigger every day, although we think she's gonna be a little on the small side. She now weighs 40 pounds, Banjo is a whopping 85.

Banjo doesn't snore but he has a tail that could take out a small child. His tail is so dangerous. He will knock over anything that is within "tail range" such as the water on my night stand, the decor on my sofa table. If you are sitting on the ground beware! If he walks near you it will hit you in the head. I swear he's almost knocked Birdie out. He has no awareness of his tail, I believe it has a mind of it's own. It just wags and knocks into everything. Especially at night when you're trying to be quite and let him out to pee or something and he hits everything, like the door or the dresser or like the other night at mom and dads house, the dryer in the laundry room. It made a thunderous sound and woke the whole house up

Ok now I'm done rambling. Sorry about the boring post, I just wanted to gripe a little.

Do any of your animals have annoying quirks ?

Wordless Wednesday

I took this last fall, I think I'm gonna get it blown up and framed.

Blog Hop- Food!

Today's Blog Hop is Recipes! I have a great recipe that you and your kids will LOVE! My mother in law makes these and she taught me how, except I don't have exact measurements, just whatever I prefer.

Bacon Sugar Bites. (yes they are 100% fat )
Ingredients:

Bacon
Beanie Weenies
Brown Sugar
Toothpicks (you don't eat these)

Take the bacon and cut each piece in half and wrap around the beanie weenie and secure it with the toothpick. Grease a baking pan and place the beanie weenies toothpick up and sprinkle with about a Teaspoon of Brown sugar each (or more if you like sugar, the more sugar the better) Bake at 350 until the bacon is done--takes about 20-30 minutes.

You can also make Sugar Bacon Bites with Chicken!!

Ingredients:
Chicken
Bacon
Brown Sugar
Chili Powder
Toothpicks

Cut your chicken pieces into small beanie weenie sized pieces. Wrap in Bacon and secure with a tooth pick. Sprinkle with Brown Sugar and Chili Powder with as much or as little as you like. Bake at 350 until the bacon is done--again it takes about 20-30 minutes...don't let your chicken dry out!

Sorry this recipe doesn't have exact ingredients. I'm not a cook, I'm a microwaver, so this is fun for me to do because it's so easy!!

Not Me Monday

It's Monday Again! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I did not skip out of work early Friday to go to the Rodeo with Sean, then throw a PMS fit and stay home..
I certainly did not forget to buy dog food for my Chocolate Children and feed them ham and turkey from the fridge instead...
I did not drive to Nashville to help a friend move into a new house and then watch movies with her instead of moving...
I did not drive to the Rodeo Saturday night just to make up for being a PMS B*tch rude to watch Sean win 2nd place!
I also did not accidently leave the shower door open, my clothes all over the floor, my wedding ring on the counter, and the lights and radio on while trying to get to the Rodeo on time..leaving my sister to come home and think I was kidnapped... (she seriously thought I was kidnapped)
I do not have purple fingernails and fingers because of shelling two buckets of Purple Hull peas last night and not scrubbing my hands raw...
And last but not least.. I did not steal toilet paper from the extra bathroom in Sean's mom's house because we forgot to buy any yesterday.... (I'll replace it today I promise!)

Joaquin sucks.

Well, It's Officially Hurricane Season 2009 for the Atlantic Coast. Tropical Storm Bill officially became a Hurricane in the Atlantic this morning. The Weather Channel has listed the names of this year future Hurricane's in alphabetical order. As I scrolled down to "J" with hopes that "Jenna" would be this year's winner, I was disappointed, again. Joaquin is this year "J" winner. Joaquin? really? What a stupid Hurricane name.

Anyways...even though I am an avid Weather Channel watcher, I usually don't pay that much attention to the Hurricanes. I mean, I live in Arkansas...they just don't usually effect me. Two years ago I paid attention because I lived in Houston, and they affected me. Then after I moved back to Arkansas, I didn't care anymore (sorry Gulf Coast--don't mean to be rude) But after last year's Hurricane season I'm going to pay attention again.

Hurricane Gustav and then Ike hit the Gulf Coast hard last year and they didn't weaken too much by the time they came up to Arkansas. And The rain came down and the flood's came up, the rain came down and the floods came up, the rains came down and the floods came up, and I'm foolish and put my house in a flood plane, 300 yards from the river!

Here's some photo's from last summer. The farm... notice the fence post sticking up about 5 inches above the water. And yes, those are round hay bales on the right.

This is all supposed to be pasture...Can you see the barn...in 6 foot deep water?
I'd never seen anything like the flooding of last summer before, and neither had anyone else since 1969. The spot where my house is now, wasn't flooded last year, but still...it could happen! Now that I live on the river and am at risk to be carried down stream, I figure I might better start tracking these Hurricanes again...you know...just in case...
