Oh deer

Deer season is just around the corner. What does that mean for me you ask? Well, I won't see my husband until after dark for one. Second of all I will be pestered because He likes for me to go too. Not with him though I might add (apparently I can't stay quiet enough), but by myself.

Now I do find this quite sweet, him wanting me to enjoy what he enjoys and all, but I'm not the avid hunter. So anyway deer season brings the daily pestering of, "Jenna go hunting with me." I will again remind you that it's not "with" him, I'd be nowhere near him. I'd be totally by myself so why he enjoys that is beyond me. D you know how BORING it is to sit in a tree stand, quiet all day? It's horrible. Horrible. I can't stand it. I think this year If I go, I'll sneak a book into my backpack and just read all day.

Last year I did shoot my first deer ever. It was a doe. It was tiny. I felt horrible because it was so tiny BUT, there is a story behind why it was so tiny, kind of. There were two doe, does, doe, ?? anyway Sean and I were in the truck...yeah it probably wasn't legal. We were driving out of the pasture and we saw them. Sean made me get out of the truck and said,"shoot the bigger one." I propped my gun on the hood of the truck and aimed at what I thought was the bigger one, but somehow I misjudged and the smaller one fell. Don't ask me how I misjudged..I was nervous. The meat was delicious though! I had to take all the meat off of it myself. It was really hard. I couldn't skin it though. That made me a little sick.

Anyway last week I went to watch Sean plant a food plot in the hay field. The grass is like seven feet tall. I was bitten by 37 mosquito's and one tick. I swear I got Lyme disease. I swear I'm not a hypochondriac, but Web MD said I had Lyme disease.

The weather was beautiful and we got all the winter peas planted. And I took pretty pictures of grass. So watch out deer, here I come!!....with my book!

I'm not a hunter either. Don't care for guns really, but a lot of my uncles hunt so I understand the appeal. Try to shoot the big one next time. ;-)

I like when my wife tags along or participates in things I enjoy (i.e. football) because it allows me to enjoy two of my favorite things. Very cool of you to humor him. My wife does often.

haha... I'd be taking a book too! Thankfully my husband doesn't hunt. But I have learned to sit and enjoy some Steelers football with him. :)
