Yea! Finally!

I'm SOOOO excited!! I've been waiting forEVER (since May) to save up for my Much wanted Camera and that day has finally arrived!! I had such a success at my Garage Sale last weekend, that I made enough money to purchase the Camera I had picked out.

Yeah and about that Garage Sale, the things I just knew would sale didn't sale, and the stuff I almost threw away sold first thing. Friday morning at 7:45 am the first item purchased was a one dollar ceramic statue of a little boy holding a broken fishing pole and had a little dog next to him, which was broken also. His paint was faded and I felt guilty putting a WHOLE dollar on him.
In college we awoke one morning to find little yard ornaments all over our font lawn. It was quite humorous. I believe some friends of ours went on a drunken mission one night and stole yard ornaments from all about town and put them in our yard, the little boy was one of these ornaments. I almost just threw him away. So a special thanks to my Drunken friends for the one dollar donation towards my camera!!

The camera I bought was a canon Rebel, supposedly Great for beginners. Plus, my Mom has the film version so all her lenses fit on my camera so we can share! I am FAR from getting this camera figured out, but here are a few of the pictures I've taken so far
Birdie is Big now! She finally grew a little.

Banjo is officially on a diet. He's a little bit fat.

This is with Mom's Telephoto Lens.

Gretchen and the Kittens at my Mom's house. Gretchen thinks they are her babies. It's really cute
Well as soon as I figure this camera out I'll post amazing photos that will make you ooooh and aaaah!

Dear, PETA

I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend, I did I'll just have to tell you about it later after I get off my Soap Box.

This weekend, as I listened to Fox News, (because I'm cool like that) I learned a little something about PETA that has pissed me off again.

PETA has started an ad campaign called McCruelty, against McDonalds for serving meat from animals that have been killed in a very cruel way. If PETA believes that animals are being killed inhumanly then fine. I think they have the right to campaign against it if they want, but I'm disturbed by the way they went about portraying McDonald's and Ronald McDonald especially to small children.

This is from Mccruelty.com Peta's website against McDonalds. This is what they are upset over and why they started this campaign.

"In the slaughterhouses of McDonald's U.S. chicken suppliers, birds are dumped out of their transport crates and hung upside-down in metal shackles, which can result in broken bones, extreme bruising, and hemorrhaging. Workers have the opportunity to abuse live birds, and birds have their throats cut while they are still conscious. Many birds are immersed in tanks of scalding-hot water while they are still alive and able to feel pain."
I love animals, don't get me wrong. My chocolate children are my obsession and I would Hurt anyone who was mean to them, but a Chicken is not a Dog. I wonder if anyone at PETA has ever been around a chicken. They have a Brain the size of a pea and it is very hard for me to believe that these chickens that are being treat cruelly have any idea whatsoever that they are even being hurt.
We had a bunch of chickens for awhile, Chick Chick was our pet chicken. She was so unaware of anything going on that she got stepped on by one of the horses like three times. She would also casually lay an egg while walking across the barnyard. She was totally unaware that she was even alive. SO I'm pretty sure that she would have not and Idea one that she was being killed in an inhumane way.
Anyway I think PETA does have a right to be upset by the way these chickens are treated though, as I have a right to believe it doesn't matter. (They are going to die anyway...I guess i have no heart.) I don't believe that the worker should abuse the chickens for fun though, as PETA is implying. BUT PETA went a little to far with their ads.
Do Children really need to see Ronald McDonald holding a bloody knife holding up a Happy Meal? Kids Love Happy Meals. This would give me night mares if I was still a child. It actually will probably give me night mares anyway
This is just ridiculous. I can't believe they stooped this low.
I understand that they are for the Humane treatment for animals but come on people, lets not horrify children in the process.
Thanks,

School Pictures

Today's Show us your Life Friday is School Pictures. Below is my Kindergarten picture. This was my favorite outfit. I would've worn it at least once a week if Mom would've let me. It showed my stomach ha!

I believe below is my First Grade photo. Apparently I had started to practice the "fake smile" at this point in time.
By second Grade I had mastered the "fake smile" a little bit more..it actually looks semi-real now.

By Junior High I have actually gone backwards at perfecting the "fake smile" I just look very shocked and surprised in this photo.
By my senior year, I was so tired of the fake Smile so I just seductively looked into the camera.

By College I had Perfected the "fake smile" 100% and it looks as if I'm naturally smiling, happy to be in front of the camera.

Thanks for reliving that horror of puberty with me!! Happy Labor Day!
