My Weekend

Wow, what a weekend.  Storms ripped through Arkansas and did some major damage.  Not as much as in TN but a few tornados tore up a few communities.  My weekend started off Early Friday night.  Mom & Dad picked me up in Benton and we headed off to Pocahontas Arkansas to watch my youngest sister compete in the State Track Meet.  Pocahontas is about 5 hours from my home town so Dad decided to take our horse trailer (with living quarters) up on Friday night so we could be there early on Saturday morning for the start of the meet and not have to get up at 5 am. 

BTW their horse trailer is nicer than most hotels :)  It has a slide out and a very comfortable couch that Gretchen (their dog) and I slept on.  Friday Night we drove through some major rain and got to the High School to set up the trailer to get some sleep.  We found a birds nest in the back of the trailer.  I felt really sorry for the Momma Bird that returned to find her eggs gone ...

Please notice that this nest was made of hay and Horse Hair!!

Right about the time this photo was taken the Tornado sirens started blaring and the rain was comming down so hard that you couldn't hear inside the trailer nor stand because the wind was rocking it back and forth....   We decided to make a run for the truck where dad was listening to a Bball game on XM radio.  Because ya know..you can outrun a tornado in a truck pulling a horse trailer....

So was I...I just tried to pretend the weather was good and just took photos...

Notice the Purple Triangle...that means Tornado on the ground.

Gretchen was worried too...not because of the storms but because no one was spoiling her. 

The next day was beautiful and Hot and I have a major farmers tan now..ew.

Melissa did great, and their team won state.  Here are some photos I got thoroughout the day.

Hey Bloggers...Please keep all the people affected by the flooding in TN in your prayers.  My cousins Jason & Miranda lost their home and both cars to the flood waters.  I don't really know the extent of the damage they sustained and I imagine they won't either until the water goes down but I've heard that all they have right now is the clothes on their backs.  Please please, keep them and their neighbors in your prayers...they really need it right now!

It's Friday!!!

It's Five Question Friday and Follow me Friday!

1. If you could, would you go back to high school?

Yeah but only if I could go back knowing what I know now and remembering the first time around.  I wouldn't worry so much about silly things..

2. If a genie appeared and granted you two wishes, what would they be? (And, no saying "more wishes".)

-Lots and Lots of Money to buy things to fufill other wishes!  (big house, cure cancer, boat, etc.)

-Good Health

3. What kids show do you secretly like?

I honestly can't think of any Kids show that I've watched since I was younger... I do like kid movies though... My favorite would have to be Meet the Robinsons..it's so cute!

4. What is your beverage of choice?

Coke Zero...but latley I've been on a Milk Kick...what's up with that?? 

5. What is something that you would change about yourself (or are working to change in yourself)?

I want to be able to keep my mouth shut when it comes to "things that annoy me about my husband"  And I'd like to eat healthier.

Just for Laughs, I got this e-mail of Universal Truths and thought I'd share a few of the funny ones!

• Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.
• I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.
• There is great need for a sarcasm font.
• Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.
• Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.
• You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.
• "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this - ever.
• I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.
• I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.
• I think the freezer deserves a light as well.
• I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.
• The only time I look forward to a red light is when I'm trying to finish a text.
•  How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?
•  I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent an idiot from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!
•  As a driver I hate pedestrians, and as a pedestrian I hate drivers.
• Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet my behind everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time!

Can you relate to any of these??  I'm pretty sure I can relate to ALL of them Especially the last one.  Yesterday I looked for my Phone for about a minute before I realized I WAS TALKING TO MY FRIEND ON IT!!!  Gah I'm loosing it!!!  And let me tell you I can hit my snooze button in .3 seconds with my eyes closed, first time EVERY TIME!!!

Knock Knock, Who's there?

This is what I walked up to yesterday after work.  My puppies were worn out from playing too hard!

Then I fed my chickens...can you believe how much they've grown!?

I walked up the front steps to go inside and a few seconds later heard someone knocking on the front door.

Haha! They were seriously trying to follow me inside!! They were trying to fly through the glass ha! They are so funny!  Have a great night!
