Oh how I love the smell of Summer. Although, it's not quite summer yet, the last two days we hit almost 90 degrees and if feels an awful lot like summer. My favorite parts of summer are the smells and sounds. My favorite smell is the smell of Fresh cut grass or hay, and the smell of the weed flowers blooming in the pastures, dirt from the arena, and of course the sound of humming crickets. Another smell that unmistakably announces the smell of warm weather is the smell of Off mosquito spray. Although I've spent many a summer nights at the Circle T, this is my first summer to actually Live here. Last summer we lived in Benton, just not at the Circle T. The upside of living here is that Sean is a short walk from the arena. We have spent every night this week excluding Monday at the arena, and the only reason we didn't spend Monday night there is because it was too wet. The down side of living on the Circle T is the Mosquitoes, gnats, flys, and other biting insects. Living this close to the river is not a good idea for those who's skin in irresistible to bugs. I live covered in Off. I've gotten used to the smell now. I really should contact the Off people and sell them my idea of perfume Off. How great would that be!? Off that smells good too! I'd buy it...
Banjo and Birdie have spent all night playing with beetle bugs. They have chased, attacked, and eaten beetle bug after beetle bug. It's so funny to watch them when they don't know I'm around. It's funny to think about them each having their own little personality. I sometimes wish I knew what they were thinking. I realize they are dogs and they don't think like humans, but I like to think they do.
I have spent the last three hours listening to Sean and one of his buddies, Craig talk about steer wrestling. First he had me go to the arena and film Craig and Him throw Steers and now I'm having to sit here in the living room and watch each and every run and then watch it in slow motion as they critique every move. I've learned so much I could probably go throw a steer! I'm so sick of this already and it had just started. We have just began the 2009 season and it will not end until October. Oh will I ever get used to this??
