Happy Mothers Day to all Mothers out there! I am very fortunate to have the most wonderful Mothers in my life. I was blessed with great role models and great teachers: My Mother Kim, My Gramma Norma, my Mawmaw Helen, and my Greatgrandma Gladys, and more recently my Mother-in-law Leann. A simple gift and card just doesn't seem to say enough to my Mom and Grandmothers.
My mother has devoted her life to me and my two sisters and for that I am forever greatfull, one day I hope I get to return the favor. My mom is my best friend and I talk to her daily, sometimes more than that. Hopefully she doesn't care I call her so much, because sometimes I think I really get on her nerves..ha!
Some of the things I remember as a little girl about the things my Mother did for me were simple things, that really meant a lot. She would read to my sister and I the same books over and over every night and then rub our backs and sing lullaby's until we fell asleep. My favorite thing my mom would do when I was little was surprise me at school and pick me up to go eat during lunch. I always felt so special when that happened. Mom would also pack my lunch every morning and put little notes in my lunch box, cut in the shape of hearts that said, "I love you" or "have a great day." Anything we wanted, anywhere we wanted to go, Mom did her best to get it for us, as long as it was within reason. During church when we were too old for nursery but to young to understand big church, mom would let us lay in her lap and she's take her necklaces and tickle our faces with them to keep us happy. It felt so good! I thank the Lord every day for putting me into a wonderful family full of amazing women.
I know I am a wonderful mother to my Chocolate children but I can only pray that one day, when I have human children of my own, they will feel for me, as I feel for my Mother.
And for some reason I feel I should end this post with an Amen. Amen.
