Track Star

I have nothing of importance to blog about today. Oh wait yes I Do! My youngest sister who stands at barley 5 feet tall and about 105 lbs give or take is a track superstar! You'd think by looking at her she was just a tiny little distance runner but no, not Melissa. She was smokin' last night at the 4A State Track Meet. She came in second overall in High Points, behind another girl on her team who is a Senior. That means next year, Melissa will probably get High Point at the track meets. I do realize that the picture below had nothing to do with a track meet, but I don't have any track pictures, I just wanted to show you how little Melissa was compared to us. She's the second from the left. I'm 5'3" and I was wearing 4 in heels. Melissa was wearing heels too! (Melissa, if you read this, don't get offended. I'd love to be your size!) Her size just makes her accomplishments so much more impressive!

Melis placed second in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.23. She placed second in the 300 hurdles with a time of 47.28. She help her relay team win second in the 400 meter relay with a time of 49.99, she also helped her relay team win the 1600 meter relay with a time of 4.09, barley missing the State Track Meet record of 4 minutes .04 seconds. She was also second in the Long jump, 16-10 by one inch (winner was 16-11) Melissa actually jumped 17 feet but her butt hit two inches behind her feed, barely. And last but not least she was third in the high jump, jumping 9 feet 8 in. Lets add all that up, 1 first place finish, 4 second place finishes, and 1 third place finish, Wow, pretty impressive for a shrimp. It's amazing how long her strides are with those short legs, she's all muscle though, it makes me jealous! Why didn't I get the athletic genes??

You all look so beautiful! How lucky you are to have a sister. I have all big brothers - but wouldn't trade them for the world, well I guess I would have when I was in highschool! Lol
