Happy Halloween

While actually having the flu has been a horrible experience, I hate to admit that I'm very glad I got the flu. I guess the flu was God's way of giving me a little alone time with my family. I've been really homesick lately and I really needed this time at home. I've enjoyed every minute of being around my Mom, Dad, and sisters, except for the "feeling like crap" part. Having the flu has allowed me to rest, forget about the stress of my normal life, and just sit back and enjoy my family...when I wasn't asleep...or aching...or coughing..or running fever..so for like 10 minutes I go to enjoy my family :)

I guess that valuable time with my family was the silver lining to my cloud.

Look what we did Wednesday while I was feeling better.  We carved a Pumpkin!! Momma picked up a carving kit at Wal-Mart and we made this fantabulous kitty cat! Doesn't it look great!?And with moms help, I made a sad attempt at the Rainbow cake MckMamma posted on her blog. While our cake looked nothing near what her amazing cake looked like, I'm sure it tasted just as good. It was so much fun to make, even though It didn't turn out the prettiest! I can't wait to make it again and keep on trying to perfect it! I think we made the layers a little thick and we ran out of icing. ha! Mom laughed every time she looked at the cake because it was so tall and lumpy!  ha just looking at the picture of it makes me laugh!

I guess all the pumpkin carving and cake baking made me overdo it because I woke up Thursday with a low fever and sick again.  I'm still not feeling well but I think this is the last of it.  Yay!!  A restful weekend should help me be 100%.

Have a Happy Halloween!!

The pumpkin is adoreable! It's "SPOOK-tacular!" Glad you're over the flu and the cake is too precious.

That is SO great that you're spending some quality time with your family (I'm jealous!) and your pumpkin is so cute! Feel better!
