Arkansas Longhorns?

Today's post is a Not me monday with a few cows at the end.

This weekend I did NOT eat three bags of cotton candy, a pound of nachos, a large bilizzard from Dairy Queen, and I did NOT drink like 78 cokes :)  I would never be that much of a pig.

I also Did not wear my boots (covered in cow crap) into the movie theater to watch New Moon at 9:30 immediately after Sean ran his steer, and did not, secretly wish that Jacob was my boyfriend....eight pack abs and all.

And now to the cows...
Today At Lunch I went home to see if Sean wanted some lunch because today they were Working Cows, separating the momma's from the babies. Of course I had my camera and thought I'd take a few shots

Can I share a few? Ok Good.

Some of our cows have Long horns...they are called "longhorns" pretty creative huh?

Some of them have shorter horns, they are Corrientes from Mexico.  I think this one's horns were victim of a Steer wrestling match gone wrong.

They come in all shapes and sizes and colors.  My favorite are these white and red ones.   I don't really know why...

Actually to be honest...these are my favorites

Look at all these cows...
Hey, wait a minute...that's not a cow.

That's just Mr. Key, Don Key. He keeps the coyotes away, supposedly.

Oh, excuse me, I didn't realize this stall was taken....

There...that's better.

There's my cowboy, in his cowboy hat and shirt and...well never mind.

Here's his ranch hands.. I hear the one on the right is really lazy and the one on the left begs for food a lot.

Oh how sweet it is to live on a farm.  Have a good Monday!!

love your pics and your donkey :) My mom and I have always wanted one to live in our pasture!

Funny cowboy boot story, my hubby and I had to go to a big formal charity event last weekend and I went and had my hair done... I had spent all day at a barrel race with a friend and then walked into my stylist's house wearing my new black cowboy boots... She said "oh, those are the real thing!" It was funny!

I hope you don't care that I stalk your blog, but I really think its cute :)

Oh that makes me want to come to your house for a visit! Remindes me of my childhood and my grandfather's farm. I wish we lived out of town.

Anyway, hope you had a great monday!

Uhm.. Ok.. I nearly peed myself laughing at the cow peeing because my son just happened to walk by me and yelled, "What the heck are you looking at?!" I am terrified of cows! I love the little calves though. =) My husband wants a farm but I don't know if I would be of any help. Let me on a goat farm and I have a hay day though. HaHa!!

Jacob = YUM!!!

You are so not right! Ha! Ha! Oh! Brent was just behind me when I was making a comment about your hubby's beard and hunting season...obviously I know this all to well. Brent said ask him if he's the Duck commander? I'm sure you have to watch the same shows.

my girls are sitting here with me and my oldest says, "is that cow going potty?" :)

adorable pictures. we lived on a farm for a few years and another family rented our front field for cows. it was wonderful. We want to live on a farm again someday

I love the first photo...it looks like the cattle in the background are sort of floating around. Great pics!

showing horses... oh gosh, let's see if I can put words to this. The type of showing that I did was on Quarter Horses. Some of my classes were judged on the way that the horse performed three gaits (walk, trot, & lope -canter-). In other classes, horsemanship & showmanship, I was the one being judged. In horsemanship you are judged on the way that you ride and in showmanship (you don't ride in this class) you are judged on the way that you complete a pattern and present your horse to the judge. Showmanship was our best class and my favorite. I also competed in halter classes which is where they judge the horse's conformation (it looks kind of like a dog show...).

Different breeds have different classes but those are the Quarter Horse ones that I showed in. I hope that is a decent description, but if you have any questions, let me know!
