Question?

I slammed my pointer finger in my car door yesterday...don't ask me how I managed to slam my own finger in my own door but I did it, and it hurt...   I guess I'm just the biggest weenie in the world but I almost passed out, then almost threw up.  I felt that way for like an hour after I smashed my finger until Sean came to the rescue with some leftover painkillers from my Gallbladder surgery.  I'm pretty sure I'll loose my nail and I have a huge blood blister right at the base of my cutical..plus I can't feel my finger from the top nuckle up and it's really swollen.  Do you know how hard it is to type without your left pointer finger?   All the Good letters are used by your left pointer finger like BFGRT & V.

On a totally different Note, Sean and I have been talking about the dogs and how He thinks they don't need to be babied as much as I baby them because I'm ruining his hunting dogs.   He has also said he wants them to start staying outside like regular large hunting dogs are supposed to.  He's right, and I hate to admit that.  These dogs were born and bread to hunt and it's in their nature to be high entergy and not to be lap dogs.

Sean suggested that maybe I should look into buying a lap dog for me to baby, that way his hunting dogs aren't spoiled and listen to him.  I pondered the thought for a minute but then felt instantly guilty for thinking about getting another dog.  My dogs are already jealous of each other.  Last night I laid down on the floor to watch TV and there was an instant dog fight to see who could get closer to me.  It ended in Birdie laying on my head.

I really don't want to betray my children but I want a puppy inside that I can love on and sleep with.

So what do you guys think?  Should I just go without a inside dog,  or introduce the Chocolates to a new sister or brother?     Also, If I do get a lap dog, I want a small dog, that is very LOW maintance, meaning no hair cuts!!  Any suggestions?  I'm leaning towards a Wennie dog or a pocket beagle..

(And if Erin F. reads this,  My dad said to totally not get a dog because You and Zack wish you hadn't...is that true?! ...but of course you know my dad is anti-inside animals and all he could think about getting stuck with another Gretchen!)

So glad I got a shout out on your blog!! Yea me!!

I have the BEST idea ever....you can have Jetta!! She loves being outside and inside. She's little and likes to be babied. She doesn't eat much. Tell you what, I will even pay for her hair cuts! What do you think??

P.S. Gabby said she would give her all of her dog bones for life if you adopt Jetta!!

well, i was gonna recommend you get a Fievel b/c they are super sweet & lovable - but yeah - haircut city! LOL. Weiner dogs are cute, though!! And beagles, but they bark a LOT. Like, a high pitched bark! ACK! I love dogs, it would be ok for you to get one. Or not b/c i know you love those chocolate babies. :)

I actually got nauseous reading your slammed finger story! :( Before i even clicked on your blog, just from the first sentence or two i get on my dashboard!! i am serious, i can talk about blood all day, see it, watch surgery anything, but mention a broken bone or something - & i get REAL nauseous. WIERD. ANYWAY, i know you didn't break it but i fractured my right hand ring finger years ago & it hurt like CRAZY! I felt soooo nauseous then & almost fainted too. it was terribly painful! Hope yours feels way better soon!

Oh my, I can soooo see them fighting to lay with you-- such labs! ;-) A small doggy would be fun! I don't think I could ever get a tiny dog, I'm more of a middle-large dog kind of person. My inlaws used to have a mini-dauchsund and all she did was pee all over the place :-P

I love how everyone has different opinions about dogs. That's a good thing, that way every kind of dog has someone who will love them. We've always had labs and springer spaniels, but only outside. I guess I am an anti inside dog person too. But don't feel sorry for them, we have 100 acres for them to run and play. And my husband takes them bird hunting a lot. They love it!

Getting an inside dog might be very difficult on the chocolates. But if you do decide on a lap dog, we have a Bichone Friese. They are so adorable and very much a lap dog. Let us know what you decide.

I am the wrong person to ask girl!!!

I am not a fan of little dogs...AT ALL!!!! If it can fit in a purse, wears clothes and hops around when it barks that it's NOT a dog!

I know some people will think I am heartless and mean but thats just me....I love dogs(just big ones!!!)

Maybe you guys should just have a baby instead...hehehe :O)

I like the baby comment ;-) I'm going to have my third one tomorrow, which is maybe why I'm anti-inside dog...I don't need anymore messes to clean up! We have a Coonhound outside though. Having said that, I can see why you would want an inside companion, with your husband being gone a lot. My sister lives alone and has her dog with her all the time. I don't know much about little dog breeds though...a friend has a Dachsund and he's super hyper and bites, but I don't know if that's typical for them.

My sister slammed her finger in a cattle chute, which resulted in an injury like yours and she almost passed out too, so don't feel like a weenie!

I say go with a cute lab dog; only I've never had a dog so don't give much weight to my suggestion...

I had :( (she died) a mini schnauzer and LOVED her! She did have to have hair cuts but she didn't shed! They are very, very smart dogs. Adam even liked her! We have 2 outside dogs but we plan on getting another schnauzer if we get another dog or if something happens to one of ours.

Well you probably already know what I'm going to say! Ha ha. I am so head over heels for my babies. Just wait, you think you are bad now with the labs. Oh no, it's going to get much worse when you have a lap dog. You're going to be as nutso as I am over my dogs! Ha ha. I would say get a Chihuahua, but not everyone is cut out for a Chihuahua. They are like human children, very needy, but they can also be amazing dogs if trained properly.

Hubby and I have always said, when the time is right, that we would get a 13" beagle. We both love Beagles and aside from needing lots of playtime, they are pretty low maintenance. He wants a Beagle for hunting small game but I want one to spoil and love like my Chis! I think a little Beagle would be a good choice for you.

Sorry about your finger hun! I hope it gets better soon.
