It's the new Britney Spears!!....does this mean in a few years she will turn into white trash and quit wearing panties??
Miley Cyrus is only 17...I think this video may be a little too much for a 17 year old..she probably should've broken into this a little slower...but I guess her pole dancing to "Party In the USA" prepared us for this.. I thought this was a cool video minus the 17 year old bumping and grinding on the back up dancers.
I guess Hannah Montana is no more. Hopefully she can keep herself together and not tank like Britney Spears

This video is ridiculous. I guess this is Miley's attempt at being artistic. I just can't stand her I am sorry. She is one of those kids that just has had everything handed to her and it shows. She has a bad attitude and she is always saying ridiculous things in the media. I'm like shut up you aren't old enough to have an opinion on anything. When she talks about how in love she is with that dude and how mature she is I just want to throw up. You can tell she feels entitled and I hate that.
I think this is what happens whenever any child star in music or TV grows up. They have this need to prove to the public that they are provocative with a bad attitude so they can escape the sugar-coated child icon status that a corporate entity spent millions of dollars creating, branding, and slapping that image on lunch boxes, t-shirts, movies, and toys.
On one hand, I don't blame her. She is seventeen and wants to be treated like an adult, so doing what she perceives as an adult in her profession is okay, I guess...
On the other hand, It's unfortunate that she is abandoning the role model status that she has/had (whether she wants it or not) among little girls across the world. There is a way to mature as a person and an artist without going sexpot. It would be different if she had started at age 17 (a la Madonna), but she was made famous because of being a "Disney Kid" at 11 years old. Famous daddy or not, she wouldn't be where she is without Hannah Montana and Disney.
The song is full of auto tone which is too bad. She has good vocals and - even though she'll never be in the same league as Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, or Alicia Keys - she could create a pretty good sound without over producing her album.
Miley has a cystic fibrosis connection (her friend past away from it last year, so Miley got a tattoo to honor her friend.), so I have some respect for her. But I don't like the song and I'm afraid I agree with you, J Tizzle...she is the next Britney Spears if she doesn't grow up fast.
Ugh. Hate the song. Hate the video. She is only 17... I don't want to see 17 year olds acting so sexual. *shudder* It's just kind of wrong.
Plus I thought she just looked awkward through the entire thing. 17 is not an adult.
