Show us your Life

Welcome to another addition of Show us your life Friday!! Today's edition is Dinner Recipes. I'd like to share mine and Sean's favorite recipe, Red Beans & Rice, non Cajun Style.

Two small cans of Tomato sauce
Two cans of Red Beans do not drain.
Half a chopped onion softened in butter
Add pound of smoked sausage link chopped into small chunks.
Mix together in a big pot and add salt, pepper, Tony Cachere's and chili powder. Add as much or as little as you'd like of all these ingredients. We don't really have a set amount we just throw as much in as we'd like.

Bring that a to a boil and let it simmer for about 20 minutes. Serve over white rice.

You can play with this recipe and add as many spices as you want!! It's delicious!

Thanks for stopping by!

Top Ten Thursday

Today's Top Ten Thursday is Sara and Domestically Challenged Idea. The Top Ten Reasons I love to Run.

I will slightly modify this Top Ten, as LZ did at My Messy Paradise.

The Top Ten Reason I DO NOT love to run.

10. I sweat profusely like a menopausal woman

9. My thighs rub together so much that they might catch fire.

8. My lower limbs tend to get numb after ten two minutes because I'm out of shape.

7. My lungs feel as if they have been deflated

6. I have flat feet. It isn't a pretty sight to see me run.

5. I sweat profusely like an old man who is overweight

4. I'm allergic to running.

3. The extra weight around my middle bounces unpleasantly.

2. I sweat profusely like a work horse

And the Number one Reason I hate to run is

1. It HURTS and I'M LAZY!

One day maybe I will enjoy to run and it won't be torture and I'll loose those 15 pounds I've been trying to get rid of! ...maybe ....one day.

Hey Honey

It is exactly one week until Fall Starts. Because of the recent cool rainy weather I have been in the Fall mood. I thought it would be fun to give you guys a little bit of info I found about September and the upcoming Fall Season.

The full moon occurring nearest to the autumnal equinox is Also known as the Harvest Moon. You can see the Harvest moon TONIGHT!! This year the equinox is September 22, or the first day of Fall! The Night and Day will be equal lengths.

Did you know we carve pumpkins because during the Irish Potato Famine immigrants that came over to America carved turnips, potatoes, and beats and put them in their windows with a candle inside to welcome the deceased. Because they didn’t have many turnips, potatoes, or beats they started using Pumpkins. This makes me never want to carve a pumpkin again. I really don't want to welcome dead spirits into my home.

September 7th Was Labor Day

September 13th was Grandparents day (happy belated Grandparents day to my grandparents)

September 25th is Native American Day.

On September 1, 1830 “Mary had a little lamb was published”

September is National Baby safety Month, National Honey Month, and Hispanic Heritage Month.

Here are some Fun Honey Facts…

There are 300 varieties in the US.

There are no two honeys exactly alike in flavor or nutritional content.

Honey may contain pollen and could possible relieve allergy symptoms

Studies suggest Sugar is a great source of energy and may enhance athletic performance

All-natural honey is an effective treatment for minor abrasions and burns.

Honey is naturally hydrating and non-irritating.

So Happy September Everyone! Be safe with your babies, remember your Hispanic Heritage and Eat Honey!!
