Anyway we've had a few tiffs here and there and I've had a sour attitude about the whole situation, but mostly I've been trying to deal with all of our hardships myself instead of trusting in God to provide and see us through this. I want Sean to succeed so much in this Rodeo business, I just want it to be easy...and believe it or not life is hard....gasp..
My Auntie sent me a book that has really helped me and even though I've only had it for three days, I can already see how much help it will be and how much mine and Sean's relationship will benefit from it. It's called "The power of a Praying Wife" by Stormie Omartian
So far I've learned when praying for Your Husband and to better improve your marriage you need to ask God for a few things: (Oh and this is just Chapter one!)
Ask God to Change you first. If there is anything in your life that needs to be fixed ask God to reveal it to you and help you change it.
Ask God to Cleanse your heart and give you a positive, joyful, and loving attitude.
Ask God to reveal to you and your husband changes that need to be made and ask for help in changing them.
Realize that there is a time and a place for everything. Sometimes your husband may not be in the place to hear what you have to say, or ask, or gripe about and it can only make things worse.
Also, run the words by God before you say them to your husband. It will help you to only say nice things to your husband.
Pray that God will penetrate your husbands soul if he's not a child of God.
Pray that God will help you keep your house a loving, clean, home, whether it be keeping the laundry done, the kids fed, or making an income to support your family, make sure it's a "Home."
Pray that God will help you stay attractive on the inside as well as helping you stay attractive to your husband on the outside.
Anyway, this really made me think and has made me have a better attitude towards my husband. I can already tell the difference in the past three days that he's been home. Even though he can make me really really really really mad, praying calms me down and helps things go much smoother
