When Bambi met Sean.

WARNING:  Wordful Wednesday's Post is a little graphic today, for those of you who don't get to experience living with a hunter like I do, you might not want to read this post.

So what is Sean doing in this photo you ask??    Sharpening his knife.  Why?

Because he killed a Unicorn.  Or at least that's what he told me when he called me from the deer stand.  I believe his exact words were,  "I've killed the most elusive animal in the world, Jenna a unicorn!"  He needed his knife sharp to skin it and cut out the meat so we can eat him!  We LOVE deer meet and deer sausage and deer chili and deer jerky and deer burgers and deer... well I guess that's about it

He's seen this deer every year for three years and for the last three years it's only grown one horn.  He wanted to kill it to get it out of the breeding gene pool.  (It was my Idea to put his hand up in place of the horn..I thought it was funny last night...now..not so much)

Banjo had to get in close for a sniff,  I think he was dreaming of all the table scraps he would get from this guy later on.

Birdie, was quite curious,  Banjo was around last deer season and knew what he was dealing with,  Birdie was very intrigued.  Banjo tried to explain to her that he was dead and we were going to eat him later, but Birdie kept barking like a maniac.

Oh and Sean also killed this demon.  The Coyote.  They get after the calves during calving season and so Sean is happy to kill them at any time.

This was a big coyote.  He was bigger than Birdie and Banjo.  Banjo was scared of him and Birdie constantly growled at it.  I'd never heard her growl before and for a little girl she has a very intimidating growl.  (I edited the photo because I didn't think you wanted to look at his innards)

And now just because I exposed you to that gruesome post of photos, I thought I'd leave you with this cute picture I found on Google, to erase the dead animals from your brain...

You're welcome.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I found the Santa hat and jingle bell collar for my puppy at "Dollar Tree." It is a great place to find inexpensive, fun stuff that you don't want to spend too much money on. They had reindeer antlers too!

We have many pics like that at our house. I am always afraid to post them. I will show this to my hubby. He will get a kick out of the "unicorn".

I appreciate the cleansing photo at the end and for covering the innards. ;)

a "unicorn" how funny! My hubby takes off a week of work every year for deer season and turkey season. I didn't grow up in a hunting household, but I'm getting used to it...

Funny story, I made a wedding slideshow to show before our ceremony and all the pictures that his mom contributed had dead animals (rabbits, squirrels, fish, deer, etc) and all of the animals in my pictures were alive. We counted to see if he had more dead animals or I had more live animals. It was pretty humorous!

What a cool deer! My guys just love to hunt and fish and camp and well...I'll stop there.

Kyle killed his 1st doe last year but they were never able to find her in the thick brush. :(

That coyote is cool. I have never seen one up close or in person but your pictures were close enough for me...I agree with Birdie...I would have growled too!!!!

OK my brother used to swear up and down that there was an albino buck in the woods near our house and he saw it occasionally but never could get a clean shot on it to prove it. Weird huh?
