Elephant Trunks are Sexy

I went to a sleep clinic on friday night for the second time.  Apparently I have every annoying sickness possible and truthfully my parents should claim lemon and trade me in for a new model.

The first time I slept at the sleep clinic I woke myself out of a deep sleep a total of 23 times an hour.  I was only "asleep" 69% of the time I was "asleep" which is apparently why I'm tired and cranky all the time. I totally have no idea what all that waking up and precentage of sleep means but the Doctor who called me and told me about it sounded like he knew what he was talking about.  Sooo on his advice,  I went back friday night and had to sleep with a Cpap Machine and I haven't gotten the results back yet but Saturday I felt like a new person.  It was wonderful.  I slept like a baby.  Except, I think that means that I'll have to sleep with that horrible mask to feel good.

How Sexy am I going to be in this elephant trunk thingy?  Can you just imagine how embarassing it will be to have go to bed in this contraption and then kiss your husband goodnight?  great...  After I put my mouth piece in so I don't grind my teeth I should be reaaaal cute.

Maybe I'll be more loveable since I won't be so tired and cranky all the time... maybe that will even itself out and Sean will still love me....the funny thing is that Sean has sleep apnea too and he was recommended one of these machines but decided against it...maybe we can share?

Anyone have an experience or advice on these things?  I'm really excited about it.... *sarcasm*

Oh and Saturday &Sunday i had a couple photo shoots, an engagement and a Bday party.  You can check out my Photography Page to see the photo shoot....it's new and up top on my pages.  Here's a sneek peak...

My brother-in-law has to sleep with one of those things, but I've never asked him about it. I'm sorry you have sleep problems. Hope you can finally get some good sleep now!

My dad got one of those a few years ago...he was a major snorer. He said it made him sleep better than he's ever slept in his life. I remember when I was a kid he would doze off every time he sat down and would snore all the time and now he does neither. My father-in-law also recently got one and likes it so much he won't even nap without it.

This is going to sound terribly cheesy, but bare with me...

My advice to you is to be peaceful with this bump in the road. Have a moment to be ticked off, but then just move on.

You should do whatever you can to make your life better. Cpap machine, mouth piece, elbow pads, hockey helmet, because it really doesn't matter. In the morning you get to take them all off, go to your job, take great photos, blog, hug your husband and your pooches, and the world keeps spinning around.

Peaceful Things J-Tizzy,

Josh

They're not so bad. I had an ex who had to have one of them (he had the whole mask, though). They actually found out he needed it because he passed out while walking down the street! Turns out that his was so bad, he actually had less oxygen in his brain and now has some brain damage! Tell Sean to get one too! Perhaps you guys can get a bulk discount. LOL- I crack myself up!

drag! My Stepdad has to wear one of these things. I know it looks horrible on but if it makes you sleep better and wake up more refreshed than I say go for it.

Cute shot! :) My father-in-law has one of those things, too. I think he has sleep apnea? I'm actually kind of thinking my hubby might have it too. :) So we may join you with an elephant trunk of our own one of these days. :)

yes elephant trunks ARE sexy! And mouth pieces too! Zach has one for grinding teeth and I still love him anyway :)

This is going to be great for overall health! Just keep thinking about all the positives! I'm thankful they might solve your tiredness...just think how much of a photography machine you'll be with a good nights rest and full energy....look out Saline Co!

Love you!

My sister-in-law has one too and it helps her sooo much. Good luck with it, I'm sure you'll feel so much better everyday and you'll get used to it. My mother-in-law also has one and she has had for years and her's looked a lot bulkier than they do now and they call her Darth Vader when she has it on, lol!! Try and make it funny and you won't feel so weird about it.
