It’s 6:30 am. It’s early and I’m pissed! Let me just vent about my neighbor. Across the highway lives a single 40 year old maybe 50 yr old man that is a little more than odd. He’s nice and I think he’s harmless but he’s weird. I’ve refrained from blogging about him because he’s probably the time of guy who has found me on the web and stalks us because he has mentioned the fact that he sits on his porch and watches people at the arena with his binoculars and that freaks me out just a hair.
Another thing about Mr Neighbor that bothers me is his dogs. He has three half pit bull/half Rottweiler/half mean as hell dogs. I love dogs. I love all dogs..but these need to be put out of their misery. He keeps them on chains around the trees in his yards and they get very very little exercise. They have ZERO obedience and they bite…They are mean and if I’m in my front yard they are at the end of their chains trying to get off…
A few years before my time here at the Circle T I heard that Mr. Neighbors dogs were not on chains and the roamed and terrorized the Circle T. Apparently they were caught multiple times killing calves, goats, a lamb, and other farm animals on the Circle t. My MIL knocked on his door one morning after she caught the dogs killing her baby lamb she was raising and told Mr. neighbor that the next time the dogs were anywhere close to her house she was going to kill them.
Now you may think this is harsh but these dogs are vicious, dangerous animals and they were killing numerous livestock…and costing the Circle T lots of money.
Now Mr. Neighbor told me when we moved in that if we ever need to come by his house that we needed to be aware of the dogs. That freaked me out a little, but he also told me that he used to have four but one of them got accidently shot by someone….I’m not going to assume because you know that makes and ASS ofUand ME but I’m thinking maybe the dogs got caught on the Circle T and now his dogs are chained.
One day two falls ago I was raking the leaves in the front of my new house and his mean black dog got loose and made a b line for me and Banjo while we were raking leaves close to the road. Sean saw this and yelled in time for me to look up and scare the dog away by waving the rake in his face. Banjo was just a young dog and was scared to death. Just think if he would’ve been out in the yard alone and that dog had gotten loose? Sean started throwing rocks and finally hit the dog and scared it off.
This dog has also gotten loose and kept me from leaving my house before. He prowled around my house one day and finally I made it to my car and he…I swear…Bit at my tires until I sped out of the driveway.
Ok so this morning Sean was in Oklahoma so I was home alone and my Dogs were in the bed with me. Thank goodness they were because this vicious black dog from across the street got off his chain and attacked my chickens and ate one. I opened the blinds in time to see him with the chicken in his mouth. I threw on some sweat pants and took off running after the dog in hopes that the chicken was still alive and I could save it. Well the chicken was not still alive and I then realized that I was now alone with that vicious dog on his turf.
It tried to come after me and I kept kicking at it. I ran to Mr. Neighbor’s door and knocked really loud a few times and then the dog kind of stood off growling at me. When Mr. Neighbor opened the door I still had the chicken in my hand and I rudely said…You’re dog killed my chicken. Will you put it back on it’s chain. He of course apologized and went to get the chain and the dog tried to bite me!! Thank goodness I had on baggy sweat pants because it got a mouth full of them instead of my leg. Mr. Neighbor had to wrestle the dog to the ground and force the chain onto the dog’s neck. I am now terrified to go outside because the chain the dog has on is just a slip chain. That dog could get off of it any time it wanted if it tried hard enough… Mr. Neighbor apologized again and said he would get a harness but the dogs chew through it…hum…maybe you could’ve treated your dogs a little better and taught them some manners!
I hate to say it but I’m scared to even go outside now..I’m sure as heck not letting Banjo and Birdie outside of their fence now…that dog would eat them alive. I’m already afraid to check my mail which is in front of Mr. Neighbors house. I do it now from my car…I refuse to get out.
So what can I do? We aren’t in the city limits and he can have those dogs if he wants them! I’m now terrified to go outside. I want those dogs gone. I will kill them if they are on my property again. I’m not risking me or my dogs getting hurt. Just think if I had kids?!
